Kind of surprise-Luca Rossetti, this year champion in Italy has signed for next season with Abarth Team. He will drive together with Umberto Scandola in Italy (CIR), Basso will represent Abarth in IRC !!
It will be interesting to see, where will end Andrea Navarra (maybe Ralliart Evo10 or even Corsa S2000)??
And what is the future in case of Andreucci (rumours about Fabia S2000), Travaglia, Gamba, Cantamessa...???

What I'd like to know is who will drive the Racing Lions 207 S2000 in CIR in 2009

This saturday in Bologna, Peugeot-Sport Italia will communicate about the Trofeo 207 RC...maybe they will also tell the name of the new driver

Maybe Renato Travaglia, Tom, but we must wait ;)

Yes, that's a total surprise about Rossetti after all the successes he had with Peugeot. Either FIAT has offered him a very good deal or Peugeot is withdrawing from CIR? I can't see any other option...

Anyway, good luck to him!

Aimont ended their cooperation with Subaru Italy (after almost six or seven years...), they will now concentrate on a Fabia S2000. But they still own two WRC-cars (S10 and S11, some rumours are also that they are buying S14) and they will contiune to rent those cars, which are still very competetive in Italian Tarmac Championship.
As far as I heard, Subaru Italy will rent a N14 car for Andrea Navarra directly from Prodrive.

Well, what is your opinion about Pirelli's on Ucci S2000 ? I mean, will he have any disatvange compare to BF Goodrich on Rossetti's Abarth and Longhi's Fabia?? If we look last season, Perico was not brilliant with Pirelli tyres on Peugeot 207....
I'm not afraid for Pirelli on wet tarmac or gravel, but on dry tarmac, there mayed be some advantage for drivers with BFG ????

Perico had more problems with reliability(that damn transmission/gearbox/hydraulics often broke)than with tyres in fact :mark:

Excellent news for CIR again, young Davide Medici will run the championship in 207 S2000 from Twister Corse...I remember Medici for his first outin in S2000 during 2008 season, almost in same pace as Luca Rossetti(2nd overall for the whole first leg on a rally) !!! :)

By the way, Rally Ciocco is next week, so we won't have to wait too long before entrylist... ;)

Unfortuneately no Rossetti, no Scandola, no Andreucci, and no Navarra are to be expected following boicott of factory teams for two events(Ciocco/1000 Miglia) :(
No idea about Longhi though(Skoda)

But if you look at the Ciocco thread in Rallylink forum, many S2000s and GrNs should be there anyway...

Entry list is actually very strong and I'm amazaed with the number of quality drivers in new S2000 cars,I can only imagine how it will be with the factory drivers....

Cavallini and Perico are known as very fast.

Signor,Gianfico,Dati,Michelini (I think he was the best S1600 in the TRA for the last few years with strong competition) are all very fast drivers...

To bad there's no Elwis Chentre, but he's doing ERC this year ;)

We are coming to rally1000miglia for a first time. So we have a couple of questions:

Can you trust on road closing times? Shall the marshalls allow you to drive into a stage for example one hour before road closing time?

...and how about the break on road closing time between the rounds? Is it really possible to drive along the stage after first round?

From where you can buy tickets to super special stage? Does the SSS used to be soldout?

Thanks in advance!

Yep, amazing. Fiat probably feeling sorry they've let him go some years ago. Why did Rosetto switch from team, was it a matter of money?

I have just checked stage times of the Cetinkaya / Pons crew, but I think we should pull the curtain of silence over those results.

Navarra, on the other hand, is doing really well leading traditional group N in the 4th place overal

But, do not forget that they are women crew and this is their debut with an S2000 car. ;)

If you look at the statistics overall, you understand what I mean.. and I also added that this is their debut with an S2000 car, so this is a kind of practice run for them.

Thanks Tom. I wasn't following the gravel championship, so I didn't know this driver. Now I understand why he is so much faster on gravel than on tarmac!

Congratulations to Ucci! What a pity he will miss Mille Miglia :(
