Well with two(long)stages left to go in Rally Valle Aosta, Chentre has 18s advantage over Re and Porro... :)

Just as I pointed out Elwis is leading (in an old car) ;)

About Nicola Botta(Skoda Fabia S2000) retirement...the reason was the choice of the driver because he couldn't find the right set-up for him and couldn't do better times :mark:

End of rally valle d'Aosta...
Victory for Elwis Chentre in front of Felice Re and Paolo Porro :bounce:
Now can't wait for next week's Rally Targa Florio
Well deserved victory for a E.Chentre !! Also tactical race for F.Re, I think he was not on the limit, because Chentre is yust a guest in TRA championship. Felice must be yust in front of his important rivals, like Porro, Oldrati, Silva, Pedersoli.
But did you notice a horror between R3 drivers ?? On each SS best drivers in this class were separeted by tens of seconds !! Stefano Bizzarri was defenetly working hard for this victory !!
So, rally Piancavallo in two weeks, I will be there, expecting a great victory for Felice Re!!
urabus-denoS2000
2nd May 2009, 22:30
Nope Ucci you're wrong, now it's Rally Valli Pordenonesi (no more Piancavallo in the name because this year there is no climb up the Piancavallo mountain )
I hope I will be there too ;)

Eighteen S2000s registered on entrylist of next week Rally Targa Florio, according to latest press release :D :D
It should be availabe by tuesday... ;)

Entrylist Rally Targa Florio !!! ;)
http://www.rallylink.it/pdf/iscritti_targa.pdf
Strangely I counted 16 entries in S2000 and not 18 as announced in the press release
No Longhi, Aghini, Gamba, no official Skoda... :-(
Entry list shorter than on polish Elmot Rally.
Travaglia will use "Gamba car". Longhi will start from San Marino.
I "knew" it was Gamba's car, but in Italy there are far more cars than one Skoda :-)
Longhi is sure?
Cavallini with 207 R3T???

How many WRCs can we expect next week at the Valli Pordenonesi?
There should be Re, Silva, Porro, Pedersoli, De cecco (?). Oldrati will probably do the Rally Abeti, won´t he?
Will anyone else start in a WRC?

It was scheduled, I wrote it in the "french Volant 207" thread :p :
He will be Racing Lions(Peugeot-Sport Italia)test driver for the new 207 of the "trofeo" ;)

Entry list shorter than on polish Elmot Rally.
Also no Cantamessa and no Dati :( But still the head of the entry list looks very strong. As far as the number of competitors is concerned, I think there are usually less drivers entered on the events in Southern part of Italy.

Mechanical problem for Travaglia during shakedown Rally Targa Florio today... :(
Mechanics are working on his Fabia S2000 in order to allow him to start event
His car is not badly damaged and it seems he will start tomorrow.

First stage of the Targa was won by Rossetti, Andreucci is only 0.2 behind. The rest of the field is already far behind.

Damn it, Fabia is not fast enough for Italian stages. Travaglia only 7th after SS3 :(
Great battle between Rossetti and Andreucci

Lol, maybe Travaglia is taking it easy so he doesn't "do a Juho" and crash again.
Doubt he is as fast as Rossetti and Andreucci outright though?

I have the same opinion too as you in your first sentence. 7th is not so bad after the first 3 stages, he must learn the car and his self confidence is maybe not so high after his little accident in shakedown.
In my opinion, Travaglia is even fast as Rossetti. Andreucci is probably a little bit faster.

I would say Travaglia was very close to those two a few years back. Unfortunately he spent most of the recent years trying to find a good budget, changing teams and cars etc. so I believe it stopped him a bit. Nevertheless Travaglia is still one of my favourite Italian drivers!
Tom206wrc
9th May 2009, 10:10
So Andreucci in the lead after SS3 :D
Rossetti in the lead by 1.3 sec after SS4!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fiat-131-Abarth
9th May 2009, 12:19
rossetti extended his lead over Ucci. Vai Luca! Vai FIAT!
Travaglia lost 53 seconds on first section but now he is back on third overal and doing similar times to Ucci :) Rossetti is leading by 9 seconds.
Surprise, for me personaly small dissappointment-my personal favorite,Mr.Andreucci is ONLY on the second position !!!! Keep on pushing, Ucci......
On the other hand it is shame to see Navarra in the leading N4 car only on 10th position, so much second class-drivers in front of him....But that is cruel reality, S2000 cars are much to fast on tarmac.
1. Rossetti (Punto S2000) 1:20:05,5
2. Andreucci (207 S2000) +6,1
3. Travaglia (Fabia S2000) +1:31,0
4. Medici (207 S2000) +1:36,0
5. Riolo (Punto S2000) +1:45,1
6. Scandola (Punto S2000) +1:54,6
7. Michelini (207 S2000) +2:20,7
8. Perico (207 S2000) +2:43,5
9. Di Benedetto (207 S2000) +2:47,6
10. Signor (Punto S2000) +3:15,4
11. Navarra (Impeza N14) +3:27,3
The first ten are all S2000 cars!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done Mr.Rossetti, I must admit ! It is obviusly, that CIR will be desided between Rossetti and Andreucci, thay are a step away from others. Maybe Trava and U.Scandola can fight on some events, but generaly speeking thay are the one to watch.
urabus-denoS2000
10th May 2009, 19:28
Well done Rossetti,I must admit I thought he had no chance against Ucci!
It seems it will be a classic duel!
P.S. I'm watching Rox on Rally Valli Pordenonesi next weekend ;)
So, to a next event, which I will vist in Italy, rally Valli Pordenonesi, I hope for a nice, dry weather, as already Urabus told, a special guest on this event, Luca Rossetti will be a strong competitor, not for a win in general ranking, but in class S2000 he will be first to watch out...
Did you notice what kind of surprise have Organisers of next event after Vali Pordenonesi, Rally Marca ???? Kimi Raikkonen, together with ex-Makinen co-driver Kaj Lindstrom will drive a Punto S2000. Watch out Italian boys, he will be looking for a win in S2000 !!

There you have a list of entries for Rally Valli Pordenonesi-I must admit, I am quite disappointment abot poor list: yust six WRC, only two S2000, three N4 and a few S1600. I can't belive....sorry, but I will stay home and hope for better list for next TRA race-Del Marca end of May.

Paolo Porro leading in front of Luca Rossetti and Luca Pedersoli after SS4...
Damm, in the moment of Chentre's retairment, Felice Re had an open door to a great win-but turbo problems destroyed this dreams....Rossetti will give hard times to other drivers of WRC car !!

Just came back from an excellent Rally Valli Pordenonesi :D
To make it clear at the begging:Rossetti was on a mission,he was extremely fast and keeping up with the WRC guys. But for me the man of the day was local man Zannier :) . I haven't seen crazy driving like that in a long time, that guy is a maniac.I am sorry about Elwis,of course I was cheering for him.
Congratulations to Porro and Cargnelutti, very nice and attractive driving from them and they deserve the win

Coming back from Italy I must say it was really a very great rally.
urbanus is right, Zannier was the man of the rally. I´ve seen lots of crazy italian rally driver but Zannier is the craziest of all. He was sideways before nearly every corner. Would love to see him in a stronger car in the CIR soon. I think this rally was his first rally in S1600 car.

Well, this is something totally different as Valli Pordenonosi ! More WRC cars, eight S2000 cars ( Go Kimi, go..)and 22 R3 Clio's. And not to forget, two Slovenian drivers with C2 Max, we will cheer for them !!
In the general ranking I espect a tight fight beetwen Chentre, Re and a local driver, Gasparotto.
In a class S2000 two rivals from CIR-Signor and Gianfico will play the main role, but all eyes will be focused in a guest driver, Kimi Raikkonen !!
So, waiting for Saturday...

What happened to the Kimster? I thought his times were not too bad for his first asphalt rally.
Raikkonen went off the road and lost wheel on SS3.
Full of positive impressions from Rallye Della Marca I would like to write a few impressions: The Iceman suprised us all, in the first two SS he lost yust a 1sec/km according to the fastest in the S2000 class !! I was on one attractive jump, Kimi was flaying the longest, mean that he has no fear ! He is a real talent.
About WRC's drivers is not to be diskussed, theay are very, very fast and attractive. In the Clio R3 class is a fight to the knife, they are all the time on the limit and I yust hope that none of the crew does not make a mistake, because this could have severe consequences.
Plesure for Slovenian fans-Humar was with his C2 Max second in his class.
Frustration of the race are undoubtedly Peugeot's 207 R3T: with the restrictor they run so slow, even the view on the ranking shows this-they were not only behind C2 Max, but even Clio N3 was much faster !! What is the point of this cars, I don't know, I yust hope for a increase in the engine power. The only positive feature is the balance of the car, here is the progress towards P206 RC obvious.

Entrylist of next week's Rally del Salento, event counting for tarmac championship(TRA)and International Rally Cup(IRC)...
http://www.rallydelsalento.com/materiale/elenco_degli_iscritti_2009.pdf
I'm a bit disappointed :(
Tom, I can not completely agree with you, if you remember lists of registered at the TRA Championship in this part of Italy, participation was always very modest, due to distance. Now the organizers solved this by the coefficient (double points) and thus attract the crews. All the main players of TRA and IRC Championship are logged, so we can expect a nice race!
In ten days starts Rally San Marino, gravel race for CIR and we already recived an important news about special guests, which will participate on this event. First name will undoubtedly be Toni Gardemaister, runing Motoring Club's Impreza. Second on the list is Alexander Zheludov, twice the Russian Champion, driving Munaretto P207 S2000. And also Serkan Yazici with Grande Punto S2000....
It will be interesting to watch fights between Navarra and Gardemaister in identical cars....

Guys, don't forget that Toni Gardemeister is not such an exceptional driver. He's very good off course, but have you ever seen him winning anything important? At least any ERC, IRC, not to mention a WRC round? Drivers such as Andreucci, Rossetti, Travaglia etc. have achieved much more in rallying...

No one yet mentioned Rally Salento, valid for TRA and Italian IRC. The winner was (very convincing!!) Elwis Chentre with old P206 WRC, second was the legendary Franco Cunico (he disappointed me) with Focus WRC '07, third Pucco Grossi....Two important retairments: Felice Re and Paolo Porro!!
As all classified get double points, Chentre has now a strong lead in a TRA classification.

Problems for Felice Re and his Xsara, I heard the car is not performing like last year anymore (don't know why).
These guys (except Pisi on the Grande Punto) are nothing special IMHO, kudos to Cunico (old braveheart) but the speed isn't there anymore ...
We have to see CIR and TRA to see some good italian driving :p talking about San Marino, I also think that Toni G. has almost no chance to win with that slow STI ... maybe he can beat Navarra (same car) but I wouldn't be even sure of that :p

Where the two fight, third profit has-in this case Longhi. Rossetti had a puncture on the last stage and lost the lead.....Now Ucci and Travaglia are equal in the championship standings. Lucky boy, Piero Longhi....

This week-end, Rally San Martino di Castrozza (TRA), entry list has been already published, I must admit it is quite good one ! As the rumors are spread, Chentre will drive Xsara WRC (GMA Team), because his ''usually'' 206 WRC has not been repaired yet ! If this is correct, Porro and Re can say goodbye to a possible win.....,

Ohhh ... there's also new idol Zannier with a Renault Clio S1600 :D
I see a Toyota Corolla S2000 too ...
Rossetti seems to be the only one who can make the Punto keep up with the 207 this year, might be time to swap positions with Alen.

San Martino di Castrozza after fifth stage: as I announced currently in the lead Chentre, second is Re (a great result for Citroën), Silva with almost a minute delay is on a third position. Big problems for Porro (turbo failure), Batagalin OUT !!

Something happened in the last SS ... Felice Re retired (he was less than 20 sec from the first place), and also Chentre lost a lot of time, but he won same way.
Zannier also retired after some impressive times in the slow S1600 :'

Well if you compare it to the other cars present ^^ such as WRC (Xsara, Focus) and S2000 (Pug, Abarth). Or not ?

Its a very fast car, just the others are faster ;)

Suzuki S1600 is a great car .... if you compare it to the others of the same category xD !
But no chances against more powerful cars, even if you are Loeb you are doomed against a WRC.

Loeb was competitive with S1600 on du Var last year against gentleman WRCs ;)
Btw Zannier drove a Suzuki? I'm on mobile internet so I have limited info

Zannier drove a Clio S1600.
Given the final rank-last SS was a place of drama-Felice Re had to resign because of brake problems, Chentre had a tyre puncture, lost one minute and almost lost a win to Silva. In response to repeated brake problems on Re's Xsara, I think F.Re will have a serious meeting with responsible in TAM-AUTO team, as seems he will loose the fight for the title this year because of repeated brake problems.

Ok.
Julien Maurin is on his calendar the Rally principe on September 11/12, and Piero Longhi the Rally Costa Esmeralda the same weekend.
Logically piero is the official driver of the brand in Italy and bring that car. ¿What Skoda would julien ?

I know that this weekend evertyhing revolves all around Finland and Madeira, but for those who are acquainted with Italian rallying today during the night is held rally Lanterna in the vicinity of Genoa. I personally hope that Felice Re will shook off the pitch with the brakes on his Xsara and that he will show all the potential that he can do ! If he or Paolo Porro will not beat Elwis Chentre, the TRA Cup champion will be Chentre....And I'm looking forward for all fearcing battles among Clio R3 drivers !! Ultimately, also a Slovenian representative in this race-I hope Alex Humar will fight for a top ranking between Citroën C2 R2 class.

We have a new champion in TRA championship-Elwis Chentre. During the night resigned Felice Re, Porro didn't even start, so Chentre has an open way to the victory and now he can begin to celebrate. Congratulations !!

- Subary italy won't compete in the next tarmac rallys of CIR, instead they will do some gravel events of TRT
- Travaglia will compete in 45° Rally del Friuli e delle Alpi Orientali with a 207 from Friulmotor
- Cantaluka is back in 45° Rally del Friuli e delle Alpi Orientali with a 207 from Team Balbosca

About Subaru Italy: I don't know where it officially says, but if it is true, this is a logical decision because on the tarmac races valid for CIR Impreza is not capable for the point score.....On the gravel with their specialist Navarra there are some options for a top result.
I'm especially happy for Cantamessa and I want all the best for him at the end of August in the vicinity of Udine.

Yust five days until rally Del Friuli Alpi Orientali starts, as Rossetti was very modest in his performance on Barum, I hope Andreucci will show to him (and others) who is the fastest Italian driver....
But I'm afraid, that the tyres will play very important role-Pirelli's are not known as the best choice on hot tarmac.
