]Great day today. My impressions are that Pech was attacking as hard as possible but Kresta looked like he takes more risk (a lot). I think that he can't drive faster with this car. Valoušek looked more calm except last stage where he looked really crazy where I was. Pech had some troubles with engine in the last stage.

New rules changed situation a lot. Our stages are very fast and I think that only long stages remain problem for heavier production cars which may be "tired" sooner (brakes, dampers).

Kresta retired because of problems with cooling just 200 meters from me (at a restaurant by the way :D ). Jan Černý had again technical problems today (engine on SS11, SS12 was cancelled for him). Otherwise he was clearly fastest 2WD driver but it's fact that the competition in 2WD isn't good this year.

Can U tell me more about Pech engine issue on last SS?

Head gasket was damaged but it wasn't major problem. From outside there was nothing noticable. Of course in such tight fight it could be the reason why he lost the victory. Maybe Valda would defeat him anyway, maybe not :)

I'm sorry, I can't help You. Maps haven't been released yet and I don't know stages only from names. They will be released on event website on 31st March according to suplementary regulations. Roman Kresta with very young and unexperienced co-driver Tomáš Kašpárek won Horácká Rally Třebíč after Jan Štěpánek rolled his Octavia WRC in penultimate stage while leading. Second was Jaroslav Orsák, third Roman Odložilík. Jan Černý retired before start with technical problems.

Valousek is extending his lead a little bit on the first stage, but without the five second penalty for Kresta they are only 0.3 sec apart. :)
Pech is loosing quite a bit of time compared to Tarabus, who is now well on the third step of the podium.

I must say that this year the fight is great and from what I could see live on stages both in Šumava and Valašská Pech and Kresta are taking quite a big risk and can't drive faster, Valoušek in my opinion can. He looks much calmer and there is also visible that Fabia is much more stable over bumpy roads.

Pech was doing first section of second leg only with RWD, Jaromir Tarabus had problems with engine overheating and didnt arrived into one TC in time (50 sec penalty), Josef Petak had broken shifter.

Tarabus had problems with alternator belt (classic problem for Fiesta) and than with prop-shaft bearing. He was very lucky because both occurred just before service. In first case he reached service with very low battery voltage (7V).

I would also mention two punctures of Orsak in SS14 and 15.

Cars with experided homologation, national homologation or in same cases without homologation are allowed
WRC and A8 are allowed

Puncture in penultimate stage caused Tarabus to lost well deserved victory. Kresta won in the end. These two were far faster than all the rest. Grzyb finished third infront od Odlozilik and Orsak.

Just watched some Valousek onboards from Krumlov... Friggin' amazing! :eek: Especially the SS10 onboard, just the kind of dirty, bumpy, technical and fast tarmac I love. I laughed when they cross the flying finish and Zdenek says something like "Dobri...Ty kravo!" and laughs a bit and you can see him sweating. I don't speak Czech but I think it means something like "Well done...F*ck!" :D So easy to agree with him, what a crazy stage! :D

SS10 is legendary stage Malonty in a bit different variant then usually. It's crazy stage but most of drivers love it. For me it's on of the best stages in our championship, although it's a bit too fast for up-to-date safety standards.

Yes, Semerád - Ernst crashed in test. Both are injured and they are in hospital. They are slight injured.

A lot of top crews retired (Melichárek, Lancer WRC - accident, Odložilík, Xsara WRC - electronics, Orsák, Lancer Evo IX - accident, Černý, Lancer Evo IX - technical problems, Firla, Lancer Evo VII - ignition coil, Drotár, Fabia WRC - technical problems). Béreš and Enge had punctures. Three stages were won by Odložilík, two by Kresta, two by Melichárek and two by Béreš.

From spectator point of view it was fantastic event (maybe only on places where I was), maybe it was too crazy as I saw even two crashes from which one was rather serious. I was very much surprised by Melichárek. I remember him quite slow and strange driving but now with Lancer WRC and after some lessons from Mark Higgins he isn't bad and moreover is very spectacular.

Mirek, you can be sure that other places were worth watching too :) I chose different places than you and was more than satisfied!
The gravel parts of special stages, artificial water splashes, well chosen asphalt parts + many top crews made the rally really spectacular!

And here´s the photo of the damaged car of Melichárek, you can see that he was still able to drive after the accident in SS8 but he eventually stopped after the SS. Maybe he couldn´t see properly through the front windshield, so instead of heading for the final stage he drove directly into to the service park (as I saw him).

I don t remember in which rally was in czech but it was this year,and at finish they inspect everything on his car.It was ok.
Of course in this level you have to change driveshafts,transfer boxes etc regularly but same goes for s2000 cars.The difference is the price between them(n4 vs s2000)
Because of their weight in an already heavier car, their results are more amazing instead of an s2000 with 100 kg lighter(just the car) and another 50? kg of crew.

That he is fast on his ''only'' car is ok for me as ''Charouz'' after so many rallies they have find the suspension/diffs etc settings.Even in wrc a higher level we can see crews that when they change car are not so fast.Don t mention that happens from rally to rally from the same car with same team.
Lets wait for next year,if we see him in s2000 is going to be interesting.

I don t remember in which rally was in czech but it was this year,and at finish they inspect everything on his car.It was ok.
Of course in this level you have to change driveshafts,transfer boxes etc regularly but same goes for s2000 cars.The difference is the price between them(n4 vs s2000)
Because of their weight in an already heavier car, their results are more amazing instead of an s2000 with 100 kg lighter(just the car) and another 50? kg of crew.

That he is fast on his ''only'' car is ok for me as ''Charouz'' after so many rallies they have find the suspension/diffs etc settings.Even in wrc a higher level we can see crews that when they change car are not so fast.Don t mention that happens from rally to rally from the same car with same team.
Lets wait for next year,if we see him in s2000 is going to be interesting.

I was able to see two stages of Saturday and I must say that Tarabus was really pushing like hell! Valda had wrong tyres for last stage, so he took it easy to go for title. It was bittersweet for him since someone stole his private recce car during the rally...

Yes, Pech is definitely a turbo man! For so many years now, he´s been driving nothing like cars with a turbo. Before the season, he sincerely said that he just cannot drive that good without a turbo and that a turbo is one of the reasons he prefers Mitsu.
My personal guess is that he stays with Mitsu next season. New evolutions of present S2000 cars are forbidden from January 1st 2011, so those cars won´t be getting significantly faster anymore. Maybe his team will buy a 1.6T car once it is available for privateers in regional competitions.

I think you are not right - from 2011 isnt forbidden to have new evolutions, it is forbidden to homologate brand new car in S2000.

The main problem is that he is fast only in his Evo IX. He drove another Evo and also Impreza N14 last year and he wasn´t so fast...
Some people says that his car is the best Evo IX ever, some says that this car is similar to "Asi" Aschenbrenner´s Evo (you know what I am talking about...).
In one interview he said that s2k is more expensive then N4 (but in my opinion, the Evo cost him a lot of money too, they are changing everything after every rally, preventive changin many components in service park and so on...) and the other thing, he is very big man and his codriver also, so they will have disadvantage in s2k car :D
So we will see, next year will be also very dramatic I think.

I think there are some significant difference between Asi and Pech:
-Pech was never caught on cheating while Asi several times...
-Asi can drive other type of cars very fast as well, he'll start the last rally with an r3 Civic.
-Pech is very fast outside his country too, while Asi trained very much before his (almost) only foreign outing, his pacenote system is so precise, that it's impossible to drive after only two passes.
