Hi guys, just returned :)

Semerád sr. and Valoušek brake problems (Valoušek 0,5 sec slower than Orsák in the middle of SS1). Semerád jr. and Sýkora gearbox, Trněný engine. Martin Christ rolled his Trabant...

Anyway for me great rally to watch with huge fight till the end both in absolut and 2WD. Pitty of a lot of retirements but that's rally...

PS Good result for Ralf Eckl with second Trabant. He was 77th from 86 finishers! :)

Tonight one of the beautiest rally in Czech republic is starting. There are some changes in the end. For example Jan Černý will drive Evo IX from R.A.M. Team instead of Peugeot 206 RC.

5 stages today including two passes through 25,5 km long very hard stage Kohout, one in the dark.

I think that he is just cautious because they finished completely new car built day and night all the time since Šumava crash only this week.

But... the true challenge is SS3/5 which is veeeery hard and some heavy rain is reported in the last part.

Votava had turbo problems on SS1 and Kurka some troubles in SS2.

Why is Jan Černy so slow?

I know it's a new car but still he's very slow

He probably had at least one puncture or off in SS3. he lost a lot of time but many crews lost. Anyway, this is maybe the hardest stage in entire championship and not the place to learn new car. He didn't even tested...

Habaj was stopped in road section before SS3 and retired. Svačina crashed out, Zedník electronics failure, Čermák broke wheel. All the rest time loses are probably because of punctures and offs.

Černý completed bad day... crashed on SS4. No damage to the car but stucked off road. Will continue tomorrow.

Šlehofer, Liška, Tuček and Mifka were given time for SS3 by marschals because they were given yelow flag (Trněný was changing wheel in narrow place).

Trojan, Pantálek, Červenka and Dunovský retired after SS3 because of technical problems.

Pech attacked hard in the night and fough some time back! Tarabus passed Peták on SS5.

Peták had brake troubles in SS3.

In SS3 most of the crews hit the same stone. They cutted one corner more and more till they started hitting hidden rock in grass. Then there were traces of cutting straight into rock and that was like a trap for others.

Big differences on first stage of today, Kresta is 17 sec faster as Pech. :eek:

It's quite common that Kresta attacks on the first stage of the day and quite dangerous legendary stage Malonty is good place to attack if You have enough selfconfidence :)

Anyway, on the last stage yesterday Pech was pushing very much, his co-driver told that it was scary. Kresta said they were going safe and that they underestimated Pech's speed. Orsák lost wheel 1,5 km from the end but managed to finish (broken screws).

it was an great rallye. i stand on this place where the teams changed there tyres. it was an tire change contest. gavlak,trneny,slehofer,tucek,vlcek,adolf and votava change there tyres and many teams drives through with an puncture.

Rallye Krumlov was as beautiful as every year. Nice flowing stages, good drivers and as (almost) every year nice weather.

Only the marshals were a little bit too strict, but after the last incidents in CZ this is understandable.

I was a big fan of Kresta in the times of Lancer, but this year I cross my fingers for Pech. He is not giving up even with weaker car. :up:

Stage Malonty is very very fast and quite dangerous. You can see that the others are slower. But Malonty is a legendary stage and despite beeing such fast most of the drivers like it. Some parts are something like Finland on tarmac, flat out over big crests. It's a kind of stages where You can win the rally or lost everything.

This year Kresta had average speed 119,9 km/h (new surface on few kilometers also made it faster). If he made one tenth more, the stage can't be run again in the same variant. It's very likely that next year will be the last...

Well, finaly some news...

Weather is totaly crazy. Completely different every few minutes.

Valoušek made spin and punctured wheel on SS1. Šlehofer had technical problems.

Kresta probably some technical problems in SS2. Běhálek, Tamrazov lost wheel and retired.

Some people say Kresta has only FWD but had better tyres for SS3...

Some more news from interwievs.

Kresta had 2WD for one half of SS2. The clutch releasing rear axle with handbrare was opened. He repaired that in road section. He said he choosed not the best tyres.

Drivers didn't like spectator stage at all. Some of the drivers also took wrong way in one junction there (Tarabus, Triner...). Šlehofer lost power steering in SS1 (in water splash) but managed to repair it on the road section. Tlusťák retired (alternator).

The stages were completely muddy and wet but some drivers had slicks (Arazim for example).

Štajf was off road on SS2. Jelínek crashed on SS7 but continues.

Černý and Křížek were off road on SS6 but both continue.

Tarabus had problems with handbrake (no rear axle release).

Odložilík and Barvík were also off road and Votava twice off road and leaking turbo pipe problem.

Great victory for Tarabus, his first ever overal! And of course huge battle between front runners. Odložilík had painfuly injured right hand from bicycle crash, I think he would be quicker if he was ok. I was little bit dissapointed by Kresta's Fabia. Last year with 207 S2000 he was both faster and more spectacular. In my opinion the car wasn't very good.

Orsák had an off and a double puncture. It wasn't mechanical problem. Pech was somehow slow. He probably had some problems but he wasn't driving like usualy. Valoušek was braking later and more agressive overal in places I was. The most spectacular however was Tomáš Enge. What I saw, was crazy.

Wim: The car Triner drove had very low setup and he was still touching ground. I think it had to slow him down.

You can see Orsák just before his off (in the corner infront of him). The place of Josef Semerád's off in the video was also a place of several crashes and offs in the first run (Kurka, Hudec, Krestýn).
