Entry list for the last proper rally of the season and the last event of the Rallysprint Series - Rally Vsetín: http://www.autosport.cz/zavody/soubor.php?f=18741
Many surprises there especially with unusual car choices for many drivers.

Final results of Rally Vsetín, the last proper event in CZ:
1. Vlček (Fiesta R5) 38:09,1
2. Bisaha (Fabia R5) +9,3
3. Melichárek (Fabia R5) +17,7
4. Grzyb (Fiesta R5) +25,8
5. Tlusťák (Fabia R5) +57,2 (5 sec pen.)
6. Kupec (208 R2) +1:52,4
7. Mareš (208 R2) +2:05,5
8. Smékal (DS3 R3T) +2:25,5
9. Kořístka (Impreza STI gr.N) +2:35,7
10. Firla (Impreza STI gr.N) +2:28,4
Most notable retirement was Březík's small accident already in the first corner of the rally. For sure he wanted to enjoy his first ever R5 start a bit longer. Otherwise quite interesting event with many of the top crews with unusual cars. What is especially nice for me is that Kupec and Mareš managed to do some crazy times with R2 cars!

Accident of Pech on live coverage from today's Prague rallysprint: https://youtu.be/oasjh2HhanM?t=2h56m31s
Sadly the event had to be shortened due to stupid accident of one of the spectators who fell down from the stadium wall. Also before there were many delays caused by various reasons such as ambulance passing through the stage to a non-rally related incident.
Anyway Kostka won but frankly for me Prague shall be about making a show and when I was there in the morning Kostka and many others didn't even try to do anything for show. Enge, Černý, Šikl, Semerád and some others fortunately did.

The most famous Czech circuit driver and occasionaly also rally driver (his father too). He is also the only Czech who drove an F1 race but the story ended shortly as he was banned for having some THC in his blood after winning some F3000 event (I doubt marihuana can help anyone with driving but it's forbidden nevertheless).

For sure not. Pech drove this stage thousand times and even this mistake was in some 6th or 7th lap of the very same road. The road is so well known that most of the drivers carry vip as co-drivers. Nobody needs notes there.

But it's great news of course. Finally something official and positive after more than two years since the accident which took life of Miloš Vágner and nearly that of Petr Gross too.

I know nothing about the driver, but it's a beautiful car indeed!
This car is ex-Pech's "rocket". Mr. Jírovec is owner of Invelt company and also of the team for which Pech drives. Normally Jírovec drives historic BMW M3 E30 in Rothmans colors. He is gentleman driver, roughly 60 years old. For sure he isn't able to be in top ten with the car but since we have 6 Porsches entered for Valašská rally there may be some nice competition among them (nearly all are driven by gentleman drivers).
Here are his best recent results:
2016 Historic Rally Vltava - 6th overall including ERC, 2nd MČR Historic
2016 Barum Star Rally Historic - 3rd overall
2016 Rally Legend San Marino - 16th overall
2015 Rally Legend San Marino - 6th overall

I accidentally deleted my post... Pech made a mistake in one of many junctions on the stage. It is in fact sort of labyrinth made on Tatra testing grounds.
Now Cerny drops time on SS11, but still has a decent amount in hand with one stage to go.
Mirek
26th March 2017, 13:12
Pech took enough time from Černý on the last stage to get on 2nd place but there is a 5 second penalty for Pech in the air (for hitting a chicane). Not confirmed in this moment though.
Cerny seemed to go a bit off the boil on the last two stages.. anyway for me at least it was a better than expected performance from him.
Kopecky was really in charge this weekend. Maybe Pech needs time to adjust to the R5 still or maybe Fabia is just too far ahead.
Mirek
26th March 2017, 13:39
Černý may have gone off on the penultimate stage. If no more penalties for chicanes (a sad record of 120 chicanes on the rally) come the final results look like this:
1. Kopecký (Fabia R5) 1:30:57,8
2. Pech (Fiesta R5) +1:11,1
3. Černý (Fabia R5) +1:12,1
4. Dohnal (Focus WRC) +2:01,1
5. Odložilík (Fiesta R5) +3:04,5
6. Vlček (Fiesta R5) +3:22,7 (10 sec pen and puncture)
7. Szeja (Fiesta R5) +3:30,9 (10 sec pen)
8. Tlusťák (Fabia R5) +4:25,4 (5 sec pen)
9. Tarabus (Fabia S2000) +4:27,6 (5 sec pen) - a good example of how much the cars developed in the last few years
10. Štajf (Fabia R5) +4:52,4 (20 sec pen)
As there was an interest about the R2 here is their final top 5:
1. Wagner (208 R2) 1:41:34,8
2. Barčák (Adam R2) +1,5
3. Mareš (208 R2) +58,3 (30 sec pen)
4. Gryc (208 R2) +1:07,0
5. Dohnal (208 R2) +2:42,0 (10 sec pen and an off today)
There was only one retirement from top ten entries - Jakeš due to a crash. Březík who was leading gr.N crashed on the same place in second run.
And a final note for Ucci: Top scoring Porsche of Janota (former historic ERC champion) finished on 21st place behind 4 R2 cars. 2 of 5 cars retired due to drivetrain problems. It was full dry with anti-cutting obstacles everywhere so with little dirt on the road. On the ther hand incredible number of chicanes limit top speed advantage and moreover slows Porsches more than other cars because they are simply too big.

Thx Mirek. But I didn't follow stage times of any 911 driver, because they are just gentelman drivers. Pech driving 911 never had any troubles beeing faster compare to R2 drivers.
I hope that Pech will be faster with Fiesta already in the second event. Otherwise this championship will be very booring.....Kopecky is in his own league.

Kopecký very spectacular, Pech clearly a lot calmer. He said himself he needs more time and test to get more confident and faster.

Some updates from driver's comments:
Černý - no driving mistake but technical problems with wheel bearing caused the time loss
Pech - there are still reserves in his driving, only little issues with pop-off valve, the time lost on Tatra polygon was due to stalled engine in one junction
Dohnal - lost a lot of time at the start of the event with a mistake on Tatra polygon, due to that was out of the fight for the rest of the rally
Overall nobody was happy with the stages where six stages were circuits while four were totally artificial ones made on Tatra polygon full of chicanes. On the other hand there were huge crowds of people there.
Seeing Dhonal's Focus on these videos reminds me how boring those cars were.. even the much criticised Fabia R5 sounds more exciting.

This is what probably caused the problems of Černý towards the end of the rally. This hit is from SS3. The problems with bearing on the same wheel started at SS11 (if video doesn't open at exact moment, go to 0:18): https://youtu.be/eKCjIQIJ7lU?t=18

That certainly doesn't come across on video.. but I never liked that generation of Focus WRC. If we are talking about Fords I would rather watch a well driven Fiesta R5 any day of the week.

It seems he is taking it easy, or is it just my impression?
Anyway even if maybe it is not the best lense to show the speed, I really like this camera view, it shows you better the lines and the approach to the corners.

Yes, it seems to be nowhere near his onboards with Mini or Lancer but this was his first event in R5 while he sat for years in the other cars. On the other hand Kopecký's onboards with R5 don't look that fast either. Maybe it has something to do with the R5 cars. I definitely preferred S2000 onboards over R5 but on stages R5 are mostly more spectacular for spectators.

Maybe it is the camera's lense... I'm not expert but I'm sure it is enough a little editing to the grade of the lense and the impression is very different.

It gives you a more reliable idea of the speed IMHO, the camera is a bit backward and the lense seems a bit more wide, simulating better the human eye.
A pity all those chicane! The streets can be boring but I think, in a technical point of view they are very interesting to watch the details.

First time since his Mitsubishi times, that a Jakes onboard looks really fast. I'm really sorry for him, that he rolled, he would deserve a good result.
Mirek do you know why Vallasska always comes back to the czech championship? Few years ago they had problems with the Organisation every year. Now the stages are compared to other rallys in CR really bad. And it is quite ridiculous that a third of the rally was held on "artificial stages" on the Tatra testing grounds.

It's all just for show anyway.

There is completely new organization since last year and it's made of active rally crews. Compared to the infamous years it was all a lot smoother in terms of organization but as everyone could see the stages were really bad compared to the old times. I think that the decision to bring Valašská rally back could have been taken too late considering it was held so early in the season. Also frankly after all what happened there is now lack of organizers, especially those being able to hold an event of MČR and not only sprint. The sad reality is that now there are only five high quality events in the championship - Barum, Bohemia, Český Krumlov, Šumava and Hustopeče. Příbram has been very uncertain for several years and the stages of last year's edition weren't up to MČR standards as well. At least compared to last year it seems that the trend started to reverse slowly with very nice sprints of Kopná and Jeseníky back in the calendar.

Nobodoy likes them. You hear everyone complaining about them, especially drivers of large cars. Frankly I don't know why there were so many in this rally. The number was just totaly overblown. There are events with nearly no chicanes at all (Bohemia) or very few (Barum for example). Also this year ASN actually alowed higher average speed (130 km/h instead of 120 km/h), while they made the standard chicane tighter (only God knows why). I can't explain it, maybe they were scared of accidents or of the average speed they could not estimate without more experience. I don't know.

After the slalom event with the love affair for the chicanes that we have experienced at Valašská Rally, Kopná was finally the proper rally. I don't remember such a spectator-friendly rally in czech republic for years.
Once againery good performance from Kostka and great one from Tarabus with the new car too. Young guns in 2WD did very well, especially René Dohnal who seems to be maturing into very fast and calm driver, Radim Kupec and Matěj Kamenec in his first outing with 208 R2.

I was planning to visit the rally on saturday like the last years, but I will cancel it due the bad weather forecast (snow down to 600 m above sea Level)
Really hope that Kopecky will be at Rally Krumlov and not start in Portugal at the same weekend
Mirek
18th April 2017, 18:54
I don't think that it will be that bad because not many roads are upon 600 meters if any. The old ones from Vimperk area yes but the ones around Klatovy I don't think so. Some risk of ice in the morning may be there. Anyway last year it was similar during the week before the rally and there was nothing on stages (it was -3°C at the start of shakedown and the hills were covered by snow but it got a lot warmer starting with that point). For me Šumava is way more spectator friendly than Krumlov therefore I choose Šumava.

Last stage of first leg is sadly canceled due to oil on the road (presumably from some historic car). I think normally the stage would be run with some delay but not so long in the night when the local administrations often require the stages to end before some certain time to keep calm nights.
From what I could see live it's not only about driving. Kopecký's car looks like a rocket. I don't know how much stuff they homologated at the start of April but the difference in power especially to Fiestas is clearly visible. Anyway Kopecký drove also the best. Pech clearly lacks thousands of kilometers behind the wheel of Fiesta (I saw for example one not ideal shifting from Pech).
I was told that there is one several hundred meters long icy part in one stage tomorrow but it shall be removed by salt by tomorrow. Otherwise no snow or ice. We'll see. Some rain shall come tomorrow.
Kopecky eased off towards the end to ensure the win. Cerny again lost second place on the final stages, what happened?

Nice battle of three Fiestas R5 was decided by a crash of Odložilík from first place. After that Vlček took the victory ahead of Tarabus and Trněný. There was a great battle in R2 category. In the end young Matěj Kamenec in his second only R2 start won. Radomír Kupec who was his closest rival retired with a double puncture.
1. Vlček (Fiesta R5) 42:42,4 (42424 - nice, isn't it?)

Looks like typical Rallye Krumlov weather. Sunny and high temperatures at the start, thunderstorms Friday evening and very changeable on Saturday.
Hope the rain on Malonty won't be to heavy.
Looking really forward to my "home rallye"

Interesting thing... it's really hot today and several Fiestas R5 reportedly suffer with pop-off valves, namely at least Jakeš and Bisaha.
By the way Filip Mareš seems to be on the roll leading R2 by 19 seconds after 30 km (and 2WD by 8 secs)!

He has been fastest today but he lost a lot of time yesterday.
Boring rally.....Kopecky is way to fast for all others.

The rally finished. Strange edition of Krumlov as it was all dry, legendary Malonty are partially under road work and looked nearly somewhat like a gravel stage on the last several kilometers (this section will be wider next year).
Kopecký was totally dominant winning all stages. Pech said he doesn't know how to drive faster but confirmed that he looses time mostly in fast sections, not in slow technical ones. Jakeš finished third not that far behind Pech and showed that he still can drive despite those hard seasons with DS3. Černý fourth, I think everybody thought he would fight with Pech again but he didn't manage to do so. He blaimed wrong setup for Krumlov stages for that. Štajf finally where he was last year despite one small off. Dohnal was very unhappy about the rougher sections becase the Focus is totally unsuitable for them. He was using the highest possible asphalt ride height and despite that the car was sliding on the sumpguard very often. I guess he will skip Barum agian mainly for this reason. Szeja and Tarabus (with S2000) did good rally I think, Tarabus despite he yesterday drove three stages without intercom. Vlček had a big off yesterday the night section and lost a lot of time with it. Odložilík again retired, this time due to health issues.
The craziest to follow was probaly group N. So far dominant driver of the season Kopáček (STi) was totally lost. First problems with brakes, than broken gear stick, than an off and after that twice changing wheel on stage. Suprisingly way fastest driver was Ševčík (STi) but first he had to change tyre today to crash in the very last stage. So the rally was won by Březík (Evo IX).
In 2WD Mareš (208 R2) got in the massive lead yesterday and today controlled the situation till the end. Austrian Wagner (208 R2) lost a lot of time yesterday (I think with puncture), today he was fastest and made it to second place nearly two minutes behind Mareš. Karel Kupec in his first rally with Adam R2 crashed, same happened to another fast guy René Dohnal (208 R2). Dunovský (208 R2) retired with broken radiator and underlined so far bad season.
1. Kopecký (Fabia R5) 1:33:09,3
2. Pech (Fiesta R5) +1:42,4
3. Jakeš (Fiesta R5) +2:21,4
4. Černý (Fabia R5) +2:42,6
5. Štajf (Fabia R5) +3:14,6
6. Dohnal (Focus WRC) +3:23,1
7. Szeja (Fiesta R5) +3:28,3
8. Tarabus (Fabia S2000) +4:12,7
9. Vlček (Fiesta R5) +4:58,5
10. Březík (Evo IX gr.N) +9:14,4
The best about Krumlov is always onboards. They will come soon.

Mirek will they repair the road on the Malonty stage beginning at Cetviny, because than the stage (end) will be super super superfast. The stage will lose a lot of it's character, but it is really necassary to repair it because Actually the road is more a gravel than a tarmac road.

Wagner had a power steering issue on Friday evening. On the last stage he lost around 30 s with Engine problems. Will be interesting to see a rally when Mares and Wagner have a rally without problems and both drive flat out the whole rally.

Super crazy fast and challenging stage this malonty...Happy to see that miro jakes finally gets a chance in a competitive car, I had huge expectations on him after barum 2013 in evo9, but was a bit dissapointet about the performance in ds3...
I am curious if he is one of the rich kids, or if it is still possible to reach the top by performance in czech republic?

The Most Rally finished with little interest. It seems that many crews after last year's cancelation didn't want to travel that far. Anyway Tarabus was very dominant in the rally building a solid lead but a puncture on the penultimate stage kicked him in the second position. Vlček therefore won. Radomír Kupec won 2WD in a dominant way. Kamenec retired with technical problems.
This time the stages were new for everybody which may explain why guys without experience with most of sprint events (Tarabus and Kupec for example) were so fast compared to others.
1. Vlček (Fiesta R5) 38:59,1
2. Tarabus (Fiesta R5) +29,8 (lost 46,6 with a puncture)
3. Trněný (Fabia WRC) +1:16,7
4. Trnovec (Fiesta R5) +1:51,5
5. Firla (Evo IX gr.N) +2:02,1
6. Kupec R. (Adam R2) +2:21,9
7. Smékal (DS3 R3T) +2:40,9
8. Pokorný (Fabia R5) +2:53,4
9. Zimmermann (Clio R3) +3:18,9
10. Nešetřil (997 GT3) +3:50,3

Video from the rally which was a bit unusual compared to other events in CZ. The stages were near completely held on new smooth and slippery asphalt. They were twisty with a lot of elevation in the hills (except short stage on Most circuit). From interviews with the drivers it can be said that they were all very happy about the stages. Hopefully it brings more drivers for next year.

Horák (R2) SS8: https://www.mediasport.cz/rally/ceske-rally/onboardy/10291.html (another very nice stage)
Tarabus SS5: https://www.mediasport.cz/rally/ceske-rally/onboardy/10293.html (very nice stage again, don't get confused by the first suuuuperfast minute)
There is only one chicane on all three normal stages. Not a usual thing for CZ. Also the stages are largely held on very smooth asphalt which is also quite different.

What a great event it was! Changeable weather caused that it was both very spectacular and full of drama. Nearly nobody went through the rally without some mistake or problem. In the end Kopecký won ahead of Pech which looks pretty boring but in fact both went through their dramas as well (Kopecký puncture, Pech puncture and two offs). There was awesome fight today between Jakeš and Valoušek. Jakeš despite a spin on the first stage of today managed to get on the podium in the very last stage. Valoušek still won Slovak classification though because both Koči and Grzyb also suffered a puncture and weren't therefore anywhere close. To further describe what was going on I add Dohnal - struggling and only 11th after leg 1 but fastest overall in leg 2. Tarabus was surprisingly fast in the opening stages even setting 3rd time overall in the first night stage with old S2000! After that he suffered two punctures and I think that he wasn't pushing today. Also great battle in 2WD between Mareš and Wagner from the start till the last meter. Interesting fact - these two fastest juniors were also among the few crews who hit no dramas.
I have to say I was disappointed with Tidemand. I expected him to get faster with more stages but the opposite happened and even without the puncture he would probably have a hard time to get on the podium. In the end he finished fifth because Szeja didn't manage the pressure and dropped from 5th to 9th in the very last stage. But hey, Szeja is amateur driver with very little experience with R5 who started to the rally with No.19. Tidemand's best was three 3rd times in the first loop. After that 4th, 7th, 29th (puncture), 6th, 4th, 5th, 4th, 4th, 6th. That mean not a single stage in top three after first loop despite today five of six stages were totally dry and that there were even some gravel sections in the rally.
1. Kopecký (Fabia R5) 1:27:17,5
2. Pech (Fiesta R5) +41,2
3. Jakeš (Fiesta R5) +51,5
4. Valoušek (Fiesta R5) +54,3
5. Tidemand (Fabia R5) +1:53,0
6. Dohnal (Focus WRC) +1:54,6
7. Koči (Fabia R5) +1:59,4
8. Odložilík (Fiesta R5) +2:10,1
9. Szeja (Fiesta R5) +2:12,6
10. Grzyb (Fabia R5) +2:24,4
Notable retirements: Štajf (crash), Vlček (crash), Kopáček (crash). Out of 19 R5 which started in the event none suffered any major technical problem.
Very nice onboard of Grzyb from SS2 (2nd fastest), look at the muddy corner at 2:55. There were many accidents afterwards.

Nice video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD4rF2sVTmE
Check 2:55 Tarabus and compare with others. The old S2000 still has much better suspension than R5! It goes over those bumps like there are none while all R5 are bouncing around.

Pontus is very well experienced factory driver with lot of experience in WRC and also some czech events.
I expect you to mean this sarcastic, not to inform me about who Pontus is and what experience he has.
But; It is often mentioned that some rally is very special (in comparison to some average?).
I would like to say that asphaltrally in ex-Czech Republic and Ireland is very special for northern Scandinavian drivers. The reason is because hwat we in Norway, Sweden and Finland call tele, tjele or tćle which means frozen ground. Because of this problem, small or relatively little used roads will always be dirt roads. When the "tćle" goes (melt and disappear), incorrect or poorly constructed asphalt roads will fall apart. When building asphalt roads, these will be relatively good and with good even asphalt everywhere. And in order to withstand the mentioned tele they will also be extremely expensive to build.
For this reason we have very few if any roads, similar to what we meet in, as previously mentioned, such as the Czech Republic or Ireland. It will also be very unfamiliar with several types of asphalt (with different grips) in one and the same stage.

Szeja is Polish. He used to drive gr.N Subaru last year. He is doing really good progress. Last event in Hustopeče he was actually ahead of Tidemand but went off a bit on the last stage under pressure from Pontus.
Pity this rally was mostly decided by weather on SS3 when it started raining in that way that Kopecký had the best conditions, Pech worse and every other driver even worse than that.
Mirek
2nd July 2017, 15:26
Kopecký totally dominant. Great result for Szeja and also Kresta after three years long pause and first time with R5 car (just like many he lost over one minute on SS3 alone but he was 2nd fastest in 2nd leg alone). Rather bad rally for Jakeš who made several mistakes. Strange retirement of Dohnal. He run out of time due to being stopped by police on the road section. According to the rumors he was overtaking four cars in a row where overtaking is forbidden and one of those cars was disguised police one. Odložilík retired after a crash into chicane.
Kopáček retired on the last stage with electric problem from first place in gr.N. Březík therefore won again.
Mareš on his home event clearly fastest 2WD driver but who surprised nicely was Furuseth who finished 4th when he lost third only by 0,2 seconds on the very last city stage.
1. Kopecký (Fabia R5) 1:34:23,3
2. Pech (Fiesta R5) +1:09,5
3. Černý (Fabia R5) +1:37,0
4. Szeja (Fiesta R5) +1:45,7 (10 sec penalty)

9. Tarabus (Fabia S2000) +4:20,7
10. Sýkora (Fabia R5) +4:58,4
SS wins: Kopecký 7, Szeja 2, Kresta 1, Černý 1

Afaik he wants to drive Barum (Kresta too).
Szeja is a young guy? Certainly promising.
Also another quite good performance by Cerny, he should be a frontrunner in JERC U28 on Rzeszow and Barum.
Still waiting for Pech to gel with his Fiesta.. maybe it's not going to happen.

Watching the results from Bohemia, who is this Szeja guy? Haven't noticed him before but setting some very good times.
Szeja are two brothers from Poland. They were competing with smaller cars for a few years in Poland (Renault Clio, Ford Fiesta R2, Citroen C2 R2, Honda Civic, etc.). In 2014 they won Polish Ford Fiesta Trophy and decided to switch to group N Subaru Impreza and move to the Czech championship. There they made a significant progress and managed to win Czech group N championship. This year they switched to Ford Fiesta R5 and the progress in their results is even more impressive.

Yes, it's a total domination. I've just read at http://rajdy.autoklub.pl/news/kopecky-juz-mistrzem,77648 that:
- it was Kopecky's 5th win in a row this year
- it is Kopecky's 3rd Czech championship in a row
- it was Kopecky's 15th win in a row.

Even though Kopecký keeps winning everything it would be worse without him. Yes, he seems to be unbeatable but on the other hand isn't it strange that a three years retired guy who moreover drives first rally with R5 is second fastest already in his second day? Or how about another retired guy with ancient 206 WRC? I think that it's good to have a benchmark in Kopecký because others clearly see where they are. Frankly I don't believe that Kopecký became so much better than he was few years back. Of course he has an advantage in works car, plenty of tests etc. but he used to have same advantage with S2000. I think that the current level of competitors isn't as high as it was back then. Kresta retired, Pech lost one year with GT (I really believe it didn't help him at all to loose one season in which he could drive and develop R5 for himself) and the younger drivers aren't fast enough (or at least consistent enough). Let's hope new generation rises with guys like Mareš, Kupec brothers or Kamenec. I really hope I can see someone who is able to beat Jan before he retires.
As a spectator of our events I tell You that in the moment Kopecký is by far the most spectacular driver on our stages and he also brings the real wow effect which comes rarely from the others.

Mirek my impression is that Kopecky have developed last 3 years(comparison with Pech)
It's a pity Skoda don't have an R2 car where they could create a ladder for young Czech drivers like PSA do.

Yes, this is big fail. There was attempt of private Fabia R2, but factory was not helping. Our federation was also in discussion with Skoda factory about some cheap car for motorsport, also without success...

First of all, I would like to congratulate with a well-organized rally (maybe it's always this well-organized).
I was also present at many special stages and I do not think there are many (if any) drivers who would follow Kopecky in this rally.
But there were also many who drove very well in some places, but what they lack (as you write Mirek) is consistency. I was very impressed with many drivers.
Again, they have the speed but lack the consistency.

Guys, if there is someone of You, who sometimes go to Czech rallies, don't hesitate and visit Raly Pačejov which is about to be run on 29th July. Nice stages, spectator friendly and this year with great entry list for a sprint event! Plenty of crews go there to test for Barum, often with unusual cars. It's not yet seeded but just some top crews...
Koči - Fabia R5
Dohnal - Focus WRC
Tarabus - Fabia R5
Habaj - Fiesta R5
Vlček - Fiesta R5
Odložilík - Fiesta R5
Kahle - Fabia R5
Sýkora - Fabia R5
Trněný - Fabia WRC
Gabryś - Fiesta R5
Alltogether 12 R5, 2 WRC, 2 S2000, 2 GT. Also in 2WD Mareš, Smékal, Kamenec, Radomír Kupec or first time this year Káňa with Sierra Cosworth in historics.

No Kostka in Pačejov. I think that he did Pačejov as a test for Barum only two times in all those years so it means nothing regarding Barum ;)

Rally Pačejov was a one man show of Jan Dohnal. He won this rally already last year but this time he was totally dominant winning all stages. Of course he has a WRC car but still I have never seen him driving like today. Very confident, very fast and in the same time very spectacular (which alone is something - with Focus). In the battle of R5 drivers Tarabus managed to keep Koči behind himself for the whole rally. There was also a great battle in 2WD between Smékal, Kamenec and Mareš. Kamenec in the end managed to beat Mareš in R2 class (but I don't know whether Kamenec drove racing fuel or stock one like Mareš who took the event as a test for Barum). What is interesting is that third in R2 was 16 years old Petr Semerád.
1. Dohnal (Focus WRC) 39:34,7
2. Tarabus (Fabia R5) +42,8
3. Koči (Fabia R5) +50,4
4. Vlček (Fiesta R5) +1:16,9
5. Odložilík (Fiesta R5) +1:28,5 (I think he had some engine issue on the last stage)
6. Sýkora (Fabia R5) +1:47,9
7. Kahle (Fabia R5) +2:23,3
8. Trněný (Fabia WRC) +2:52,9 (some problem on the last stage, possibly damaged suspension or differential)
9. Habaj (Fiesta R5) +2:58,2 (I had a feeling that the car lacked a lot of torque)
10. Rujbr (Fabia R5) +3:12,0
Nobody from top drivers retired.

Short after the start of the video You can an unfortunate moment which lead to retirement of Odložilík. He hit a huge stone lying on the asphalt road. Allegedly the stone was touched by Pech's car and from him got on the road. Sadly the TV crew didn't remove it...

EDIT: Video with Pech hitting the stone and moving it on the road.

Very difficult Rally Příbram ended. Příbram traditionally struggle with less entries as it's the last event of the year and it wasn't different this year. Despite that it was quite action packed event and very difficult one thanks to difficult route and bad weather. In the end Jan Dohnal for the first time ever won a championship event. At the beginning Pech was close behind but already on stage 3 (a new and very hard stage) he picked a puncture. Surprisingly third overall was at the time Tarabus but he hit the same stone as Pech. Third one to do the same was Szeja who even changed it in the stage and lost way more time. Previously shown strange situation led to early retirement of Odložilík. Another one who crashed out was Vlček who was battling with Štajf for third place overall. Pech tried to get back in the fight for victory but despite a spin and twice stalled engine of Dohnal he didn't manage to do so due to own driving mistakes. He crashed into a chicane and later missed a junction and spun in high speed. Special price goes to Pernica (Adam Cup) who managed to roll on the road section before SS1.
1. Dohnal (Focus WRC) 1:11:55,8
2. Pech (Fiesta R5) +1:27,5 (15 sec pen. and around 40 sec. lost by puncture)
3. Štajf (Fabia R5) +2:19,6 (10 sec pen.)
4. Tarabus (Fabia S2000) +2:39,3 (roughly a minute lost by a puncture)
5. Trojan (Fabia R5) +3:25,1
6. Kopáček (Impreza STi gr.N) +3:34,3
7. Szeja (Fiesta R5) +4:04,8 (roughly 2,5 min lost by a puncture)
8. Pešl (Evo IX gr.N) +6:12,6 (5 sec pen.)
9. Trněný (Fabia WRC) +6:17,7 (tech. problems)
10. Pokorný (Fabia R5) +7:10,7
Overall a season spectacular to watch but a boring to follow online. Also very frustrating one for Pech I think because he didn't win a single rally and together with last year it's already two years without victory. Let's see next year possibly without Kopecký...
