First victory for Pierre Roché at the rallye du Rouergue(and in overall french championship) !!! :)
The "whale" driver took advantage of the many punctures of SS9 today, hampering leaders Jean-Michel Dacunha and Eric Brunson among others...that SS9 was a crazy trap :s
Gilles Nantet takes second place ahead of Ludovic Gal(also 1-2 in the trophée Michelin)...
1-2-3-4-5 for Citroën in the GrR thanks to Marc Amourette, Julian Carret, Cédric Robert(puncture yesterday), Paul-Antoine Santoni and Matthieu Arzeno(puncture yesterday too)
The Renault drivers were unlucky: Augoyard, Marty and Guigou crashed, Canivenq puncture on SS9, Bérenguer driveshaft broken on SS9,... :mark:

Yes, indeed! I'm very happy to see SJJ in action as well! He is third after SS3, but loses only 3 seconds to the leader, Laurent Reuche. The first three cars are Peugeots 207 S2000.

Bad luck for Eric Brunson and Pierre Roché who retired with mechanical problems...
Fantastic result for Porsche driver Gilles Nantet who finished 2nd overall and won the trophée Michelin
Fantastic performance by Cédric Robert in the Citroën DS3 R3T who won the GrR/2WD and get his best result overall(4th) :D
Best of the Clio R3s was as expected belgian driver Kris Princen, althought Thomas Barral wasn't too far behind

Campana dissapointed me again had again no pace like in Germany was 2 minutes or something behind Snobeck before he crashed? Roche and Comte lost their chances too in of those 2 stages everything happened there btw. Can't understand how the hell Comte checked out 10 minutes too early?? Epic Failure of Co Driver :s . Nantet indeed brilliant drive his stage times were sometimes faster than Campana! I really want that guy in Belgium to drive against Van Parijs or so :D . Princen outstanding wins the Cup Barral came close in 2nd day!

I have noticed that DS3 R3 is very fast and reliable on tarmac but needs some improvement on gravel. 3 of cars have retired here and in last WRC round Hunt had huge number of technical problems (problems with water crossings, turbo etc.). Hopefully they can get it sorted out and we have another good 2WD for all surfaces.

Even the "reference" Clio R3 isn't that reliable on gravel, and it doesn't even run a lot on it :mark:

me too, i expectet riedemann to be mutch better in wrc academy, that was a big disappointment, he was also wrong choice for the vw skoda, especially the 2nd time. also gassner jr. was not good. here and there a good stagetime, irc mescek rallye was ok, but nothing more. skoda germany was also very poor, but i expected that. wallenwein is realy not a talented driver, he never showed anything, not even in germany. and kahle ist just too old. herbold i´m still not so sure about, he has not mutch experience on the s2000 and his team is pretty small and also has no experience with such cars. also the fiesta is not full spec and therefore he did some good times. lets see what he does in 2012. so my only real hope now is wiegand. he has shown amazing speed in german rallyes. now he needs driving, driving, driving and then i hope he will be good some day ;) by the way, wiegand was also around at the vw polo test...

I use to remember, not so long ago, there was manufacturer teams in the french championship... Unfortunately rally doesn't interest anymore manufacturers... it is such a shame as it was such a popular motor sport in the 80/90's.

Three questions for the French people:
Is Brunson already French champion now or on which position must he finish to secure the title?

Who is the co-driver of #14 Sylvain Polo?
Thanks to answer them.

Mirek, I do not know if tyres are one of the reasons, but a thing is sure, all contestants in the top of the classification know this rally as their garden. What is not the case of Latvala and Tanak. And this is a big difference for the result.
Mirek
26th November 2011, 16:10
Yes but still if they are on WRC control tyres, it's big disadvantage for them. These tyres have one common thread for dry or wet surface and therefore looses a lot to slicks.
