Now they don't have the normal issue of the transmitter aeroplane, most likely the transmitters are on the ground at the track premises.

What a dramatic stage! For sure this is one of the most tricky rally days in the whole season! Totally WRC worthy (although I wouldn't want to have more than one rally like this in a season)

Again, why? On stage, if you puncture you've already lost enough time to lose several positions so changing a tyre won't help that. On road section, in a closed circuit, they in theory can limp back to service without four turning wheels even if regulations require that. I'd need to check if it refers to all road sections or just public roads.

mknight
4th December 2020, 09:05
this was a pretty bad stage for the Toyotas

Generally in last 2-3 years Hyundai can be very fast... if the settings are right. And if they are not perfect they quickly fall back, while Toyota seems more universal.

Do we see that effect here with those services in between all the time? (plenty of opportunity to finetune and change settings)

Broken rim on stage, in the muddy zones, and there is no way your moving that car back to service.

With a spare you just might.

Been watching while working - that was one tricky mornings rallying. Stages are a proper test in these conditions, like a mini-Rally GB !

And very mixed for M-Sport with Lappi and Fourmaux (class) leading but disaster for Greensmith and possibly Suninen.

A bit like the old RAC park stages but nothing like the forest stages, apart from the conditions...

This is something like the first day in old RAC Rally GB. A lot of Mickey Mouse stages in parks. And same for all.

Waldegard didn´t like them at all. "You can´t win only loose on MM stages" Now they have to deal with winning on these... :)

As said a while ago...

TBH, I think it's been incredible to watch. I can't remember seeing the drivers looking as challenged for a while, but that's probably due to conditions. If it was dry, I don't think it would anywhere near as good to watch.

I think the road there is heavily sloped (the high-speed section of circuit) so they would need to push it uphill as well. Likely very difficult.

what a crazy rally, everything seems out of place, but I really like to see the cars passing through the internal roads of Monza and over the banking. The biggest problem is the car's setups and tires, the circuit is like one of those street shows.

The red flag was a shame, but the car was stoping the other cars and that was unfair.

Could Hyundai repair the car and be back for next SS?
