Meanwhile, new Hyundai Rally2 car seems good at least in Shakedown: https://www.ewrc-results.com/shake/6...-2021/?ct=1018

Yes the C3 in its original set up was amazing on dry tarmac, see Meeke in Corsica/Spain in 2017. As they developed the car tho, it seemed to get better on gravel, but slower on tarmac, Ogier was always complaining about understeer on tarmac.
Hyundai was an understeer monster on tarmac to start with, but has got better over years. Still does it though, that’s why Neuville has this strange handbrake use to get the best from it.

I don't believe there will be such cases. At least in Rally Deutschland there was never any issues. In Monte and Safari there were clear shortcuts taken instead of just excessive cutting.

Yes. We all remember "I can't drive this car" in Deutschland 2019.

And this seems to be why other drivers than Neuville (and Sordo) have struggled with it.

Yeah, probably in Sweden 2017 already....and then in late 2019 it was a fast car on gravel, both fast and technical roads.

Reason why I mentioned C3 was that it was great when the right setup was found for a specific road, but when conditions changed or were mixed, it suddenly had issues. ("narrow operating window").
I20 seemed to have similar setup issues in 2017-2018 on wet gravel, dunno if car changed or if they just learned how to set it up.

Therefore I am a bit cautious about times on multiple SD runs.

Yes but the results are similar on the first SD run.
