Still strange exclusion if you read the rule book: 20.1.5 On a road section that is a public road and at the start of a stage, a competition car may only be
driven on four freely rotating wheels and tyres. Any car not complying with this article will be considered as
retired as per WRC Art. 46. An additional penalty may be imposed by the stewards. Ott still had some rubber left...
Lowest point was probably when they had to put the top class drivers to run RX2e cars for the final races of the season, after the whole fire on the Lancias drama.
