I'm sorry to say that action must be taken over Seb's failure to wear his helmet correctly. If the Stewards have not received a report on it yet, then it is time for Jari-Matti should be making a phonecall.
What is wrong with Ogier's helmet?
Course there are plenty of other drivers, but he's definitely set the bar now. May be tempting to get a name like Loeb or Solberg, but I they aren't as good at insight, then it's a step back.
WRC live won't give a toss though, they'll go back to 'normal' as they do with cameras etc.
Tänak made it

Hello Jérémie! Yes we are in Rallye Monte-Carlo working with Kalle. They are doing a cracking job with Jonne!

This is how the #OpticRallyeForez cameras captured the spin that Ott Tanak and Martin Jarveoja were doing this morning on SS9.
After turning around and stepping inside, they punctured one of the tires of their Hyundai with a stone. #WRC

Rally Stewards appear to be the fining type this week.

Tanak retires, Hyundai confirmed.
Tänak retired.
Blah, it's a bit "smartassing after", but can not really understand the need for gamble with this 5 tires (instead of safe 6), because there is no rally2 option available and no option for collect points from powerstage (or for manufacturer, if there will be another car forced to retire).
great

So Tanak managed to reach service with flattyre, but organizer forced to retire?
Ott Tänak
@OttTanak
We are back in service, but unfortunately we have to retire the rally as we had two punctures and only one spare wheel. No restart possible on Sunday due to event rules.
I find that slightly ridiculous - he managed to get to service - but has to retire.....
Equal to what? If Tänak retired it means the rubber didn't stay on the rim. That is automatic retirement per rules (if stewards don't pretend blindness like with Solberg in Hungary).
Such has been the rule for at least a decade now. He's far from being the first one.
There was some rubber left, yes. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EsaT72tW...jpg&name=small
Automatically no, but his comments from yesterday (how he was waiting for snow) and after great pace in first morning's stage, he would go for it in snowy ss10. Stage conditions was good for him to show a great time.
Of course he is doing fine, not hyping him or anyone up, calm down.
I have a feeling it's the power stage next at this time and the last stage of the day :)

The rule was created to give everyone fair and straight conditions and to prevent safety incidents and troubles with local police. Before it was one big mess. Someone could finish (Loeb in Mexico), someone else was stopped by police (Mäkinen in Wales), some drove with co-drivers sitting in the side windows, on the bonnet etc. Now everyone knows, Tänak of course as well.
He should have driven it on the rim then, and only change it right before entering service or being stopped by the police.
Still strange exclusion if you read the rule book: 20.1.5 On a road section that is a public road and at the start of a stage, a competition car may only be
driven on four freely rotating wheels and tyres. Any car not complying with this article will be considered as
retired as per WRC Art. 46. An additional penalty may be imposed by the stewards. Ott still had some rubber left...
what is strange there?
and continuing on rim and changing before service is also not allowed.
Contrasting morning for Wydaeghe: Lost in his notes, then a first scratch in the WRC
Sometimes it goes well - a first scratch in the WRC in SS10 - sometimes it goes less well - he got lost in his notes in SS9 -, but Thierry Neuville's co-driver is in the midst of learning.
"I'm pretty happy with our second special, but in today's first special I was not in a good pace, and that frustrates me," Martijn Wydaeghe admitted at WRC All Live. We are here to be efficient, and I want to be the best possible. And in the second part of this stage, there were a lot of corrections in my notes, and I got a little lost. I apologize to Thierry for that! C ' was better in the second special, and a scratch, it's always nice. This week, I'm living at 150 km / h. It's a big challenge for me, and I'm learning a lot every day. "
