I tell you. If you thought the Belgium/Russia match was hard to watch and was disappointed. Try watching it when it's on between 2-4am!
Anyway, as someone who very much on the Belgium bandwagon. It's another game where they didn't play their best, but still won. Typically, a mark of a (up and coming) champion team.Last edited by journeyman racer; 23rd June 2014 at 13:04.

On the other hard, the Russians are not happy with Capello.
Though luck as England tried hard to get rid of him

It's taken a while but I think I'm beginning to give Netherlands a break, they used to be my favourite team for years, probably because at one time their national team was my home town's own boy short of Amsterdam's Ajax.
That changed in the Final against Spain in 2010. They played a miserable game and couldn't handle loosing and turned nasty.
Maybe if they beat Italy at some point I might just buy the orange track jacket I've been looking for couple of days.Last edited by janneppi; 23rd June 2014 at 17:27.

Strange thing about Capello is. As much as generally people moan about him in England as being one of our worst coaches. He lead us to 2010 Finals with our best points haul and most goal filled qualifying campaign ever.
Then the finals were OK in terms of results by getting to the 2nd round, just that we were so poor to watch.
He is actually our best coach in terms of win percentage.I still exist and still find the forum occasionally. Busy busy

Chile 0-0 Netherlands after 53 minutes is a real interesting tense affair. Chile matching the Dutch all the way so far. I thought the Dutch might be a bit to strong.
Elsewhere Spain finally winning a game 1-0 over Australia.I still exist and still find the forum occasionally. Busy busy

I kept flipping the channels but stuck mainly with the Spain match - thought the other wasn't living upto expectation.
Of course the channel flipping ended up costing me the last 3 goals as I kept changing only to find out a goal had just gone in
Finally the real Spain turned up. A classy end to a career by a classy striker.
Bravo David VillaTito Vilanova = :champion:

Am I the only one wanting Cameroon to beat Brazil. (As unlikely as that is)

Commentators or others can come up with any alternate reality theory they want, but the data doesn't lie. Hamilton was quick on his out lap, but with the softer tires and pitting first that was...
