it would be immensely funny if WRC27 would accidentely kick off another aerodynamic race. Since the bodywork is not tied to any road car anymore.. why not take the most aerodynamic sensible one? ;-)

    Half a year before 2027:

    So yeah,

"We’re all working very hard to understand what the opportunities are as we go forward and to understand exactly what ’27 will look like."

funny if it would not be so sad

    Do I get this straight:

    https://dirtfish.com/archive/fia-rev...t-for-the-wrc/

You can only compete in WRC1 against the WRC27 if you buy a aero kit for your Rally2 car, which, as of now, does not exist?

"The Rally2-WRC-Kit can be fitted to cars homologated before December 31, 2026 and will be eligible for competition against WRC27 cars during the 2027 and 2028 seasons. The kit must be homologated by a manufacturer registered as a constructor and the car must compete in all events listed on the WRC calendar, with at least two cars."

Am I stupid or does this mean that there won't be a "huge competitive field" with all current Rally2 cars next year, like promised and like a lot hoped?

Since your Rally2 manufacturer has to design, test & build the package in half a year? If the manufacturer even does it? And then you need to run the full season with it?

People, we will end up with Toyota (WRC27), MSport (Rally2+Kit) and maybe Hyundai (Rally2+Kit) next year and that's it...

So like now, but with worse cars

it's possibile. it's also possible they (especially m-sport) will have some private cars to offer.
then maybe lancia (more) and skoda (less) can have a think about it.

And question is if this "non existing Rally2-WRC-Kit" cars will be faster than regular and proven Rally2 cars...
