GC is a quite boring rally. Agree.

So far for some maybe it is but chuck some bad weather and punctures into the mix and the whole thing could change. Better consistent road surfaces than the lottery and shite on the roads of Croatia. Having driven the Gran Canaria roads and watched the event when it was part of the ERC, IMO its far from boring but each to their own.

I'm more interested in the WRC 2 battle and its illuminating to see that the local Canary Islands championship leaders Lucky and Enrique Cruz are quite a bit off the regulars just goes to show how strong the pace is at the top of the championship

The modern cars are so good now and drivers so precise that dry tarmac can look a bit boring. But that's their fault, not the rally.

Years ago with the Group A and then S2000 cars, this type of event looked great.

Pity the FIA cant mandate a RWD diff bias for the current cars.

They could mandate the use of studded tyres. That would spice things up.

I think drivers in general like those stages - they can just drive and there is less of the puncture lottery, dirty road due to the starting position, etc. - it is a fair field for everyone.

The "problem" is that Toyota is too good, and there is no competitive field. If we could have all 3 teams with cars to fight for the stage wins and have those "few tenths here or there" leads, it could be a different story.

Nip and tuck between Solberg and Ogier again. Oliver is doing a fine job vs the GOAT.
