    BIG CHANGES
Next year the cars used in the WRC will be Rally2 and Hyundai will not be there.
These are the rumors coming from Kenya.
But let's go in order, here's what happened:
•The WRC teams had an "emergency" meeting with the FIA to talk about the immediate future and it was decided that starting from 2026 the Rally1 will be abolished and replaced with the current Rally2 (NOT Rally2 plus). This solution would be valid only for one year, that is, while waiting for the new technical regulation to arrive in 2027.
•Hyundai Motorsport will exit the WRC at the end of 2025 but there is still a small possibility that it will remain a private team for 2026. However, to be clear, if there were to be this private team it would have nothing to do with the current WRC team.
In this way, Hyundai Motorsport will be fully focused on the new WEC project.
All this information is rumor, it has not been confirmed but obviously it comes to us from sources that we consider very reliable.

What´s the difference in marketing between WEC and WRC? Isn´t WEC a sleeping thing, no one care much about, or am I completely wrong?

Currently WEC has 8 manufacturers (Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Peugeot, Porsche, Ferrari, Toyota), 18 car in this year in the Hypercar category. WEC has a great rules now, because you can use the Hypercar and LMHd cars too. Ford is coming, Mercedes and McLaren "planing" to join. You cannot compare to the WRC sadly.

I was in Le Mans last year and it was a lifetime experience. If you can, visit any WEC round, highly suggested Le Mans.

To me it sounds like that at the end that bloke Richards or what he is called will get his way... having Rally2 cars top category. Even if not liked by no one. But yes, they try stupid rules, no one likes it, they try other way, Hyundai leave no matter what, FIA not having no other option than to cancel all plans and destroy well accepted Rally2 formula in the national field. Well done to FIA, all key people for all decisions being on time, and of course Cyril to drive the crucial team out of the sport.

Why not see if Ford would come back to fully-funding the M-Sport team for one year (2026) and have a battle with Toyota ?

Or the FIA / Promoter could subsidise M-Sport with some cash for top drivers, if Toyota agree.

This would give us another season of Rally 1 Cars in WRC, even if just with 2 Manufacturers. It happened before when there was just Citroen and Ford...

Stop with the pipe dream nonsense. One day its Ford coming back, then its Subaru, Lancia, Skoda, Opel etc. Why would any new manufacturer join this series?? Its a black hole of a series which sucks all the money in and doesnt give anything back.

Boring? You don't watch it then? Or you simply can't grasp the whole point of Endurance racing...........At least it hasn't 'dumbed down' to gain more fans like the WRC has done in the last 15-20 years. And is no better off.....

Is there a better sound than that of Porsche engined Flat-6 ???
