No, just a bollocking. He was talking about this to a Monaco journalist recently.

Penalties aren't supposed to be equally distributed, if those 3 are more often breaking rules then they will get more penalties.

Public roads are generally place when rally drivers are supposed to drive like regular Joe, not to do show. I think it deserves some penalty but considering it's Fairmont, it should not be harsh, more like reminder to all drivers to keep in mind safety of other drivers and pedestrians between stages.

In terms of boosting fan engagement, by giving that penalty FIA made more people aware of this drift. Monte wasn't scoring round for Solberg so ending with 15th place instead of 13th is not "real" penalty but finger wagging.

A driver retires if he can't fix his car from having only 3 rotating wheels. Neuville could and did fix the car, so what retirement are we talking about? He got the fine because he didn't repair it immediately, which he should have. He could have maybe received a time penalty, but he finished 5 minutes ahead of McErlean, so it would have made no difference.

Ogier, on the other hand, escaped any type of penalty for Ingrassia not bringing the time card with him in Sardegna 2018 and for the chaos he made on the road section of Croatia 2021.

But he's lucky the FIA didn't see this video, because it's also highly illegal and he would have gotten a penalty.

I should say it was more or less expected drivers should make some extras in that corner. Lot of spectators used to what historically always has been a part of the rally.
