Leclerc: Ferrari response “coming very soon” with upgrades.
Charles Leclerc explains that important upgrades will arrive to the Ferrari SF-24, which will define the Scuderia’s season.

Leclerc eager to see Ferrari upgrades: Still, their overall performance is encouraging – especially after a tricky event in Shanghai. Charles Leclerc is aware that, despite missing out on victory in Miami, there will be an opportunity to respond on home soil:
“As I’ve said many times, I think the season will be up to upgrades. We have ours coming very soon and that will define a little bit the rest of the season for us. “So we’ve got to work hard and hopefully those upgrades will be as good as theirs and will help us to do a significant step forward.”
Increasingly, the outcomes in F1 are being defined by fine margins. Of course, there are still days when Max Verstappen and Red Bull are beyond reach. However, this is now the second time that Ferrari and McLaren gave the reigning Champions some difficulty. Upgrades from Maranello and Woking will only improve their chances for victory. The upcoming event in Imola, moreover, is a circuit that could present the Austrian team with some difficulties.

David Croft says Charles Leclerc’s team did something the ‘worst’ he’s ever seen in Formula 1

Speaking on commentary for Sky Sports F1, David Croft and Martin Brundle were left bemused by one decision Ferrari made affecting Charles Leclerc’s race. Leclerc was told over the team radio when he was chasing Piastri: “Box, opposite McLaren. Box, opposite McLaren.” Croft remarked: “So, if he comes in you stay out, if he stays out you come in.”
The Ferrari pit crew can be seen then getting ready in the pit lane with hard tyres, but the camera cuts to Leclerc chasing Piastri down the main straight. Croft then added: “Charles Leclerc is definitely staying out behind Oscar Piastri.” Martin Brundle commented: “Yeah, you’re not allowed to send your team out into the pit lane unless you’re about to do a pit stop. Whether they were trying to dummy the McLaren there, I don’t know.”
Croft then explained: “Well, they were a bit late coming out as I think he’d already gone past the pit entry! That could be the worst dummy ever thrown in Formula 1!” Ted Kravitz in the pit lane backed up Croft’s point and added: “It certainly was Crofty because the mechanics didn’t even roll the tyres out with any kind of, we’re actually going to do this stop.”

Ferrari’s imminent upgrade must match “extremely quick” McLaren’s – Leclerc

Charles Leclerc says Ferrari need to make as much progress with their forthcoming upgrade as McLaren did last weekend. “If we compare ourselves to Max this weekend, it’s been a positive weekend,” he said after Sunday’s race. “However, we cannot completely ignore Lando.”
“Lando in SQ2, I remember he did a lap where I was like, ‘okay, they are extremely quick’. Then for some reason, and as Lando said, I think they weren’t as special on Saturday for some reason. But today they were really, really strong.” Ferrari is yet to bring a significant upgrade for its SF-24. With the start of the European season next week bringing an increase in the rate of events, Leclerc said their first major package for the car will be critical to their chances over the rest of the season.
“As I’ve said many times, I think the season will be up to upgrades. We have ours coming very soon and that will define a little bit the rest of the season for us. So we’ve got to work hard and hopefully those upgrades will be as good as theirs and will help us to do a significant step forward.”

Charles Leclerc Is the F1 Driver You Should Be Watching

Nothing inspires pious brand loyalty quite like Ferrari. Evidence of that can be found in the sixth season of Netflix’s docuseries Formula 1: Drive to Survive. In one scene at the Monza Grand Prix — home of the team’s most ardent fans, the tifosi — two Ferraris dart from the starting line while a local Italian woman watching the race on TV tightly clutches a photograph of driver Charles Leclerc,
Photoshopped to resemble Jesus, to her heart, like a devout Catholic would brandish a rosary. For many fans, following F1 is akin to a religious experience, and Leclerc is their leader. He may not be No. 1 in the F1 world, but Leclerc is No. 1 in my heart for the exciting potential I know he’ll inevitably fulfill. Even if you aren’t too familiar with the history of F1 and its drivers, here is what you need to know about the other prince of Monaco.

Ferrari prepares for F1 Imola upgrades with Fiorano filming days

The Ferrari Formula 1 team is heading to its Fiorano track on Thursday and Friday to shake down its new aero package for Imola's Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Ferrari's SF-24 will receive the first of three planned upgrade packages next week, when F1 heads to Italian soil for the first time in 2024.
It has deployed its second and last filming session on its own Fiorano test track to give its comprehensive upgrades package a first run-in and reduce the calibration work needed in Imola. While filming days are limited to 200km and conducted on special Pirelli tyres, it gives the Scuderia some useful data to compare the new upgrades to their virtual counterparts and correlate the work that has been done in the wind tunnel by the Enrico Cardile-led technical team.
The filming day will also be used to gather rights-free footage with the SF-24 driven by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz incorporating the blue HP logos in its updated livery. The American tech giant joined the team from last weekend's Miami Grand Prix as a title sponsor, adding its well-known blue logos to the engine cover and both the front and rear wings.

Ferrari’s upgraded SF-24 will be put to the test this week with the Scuderia scheduling a filming day for the chance to see if the wind tunnel data correlates into lap time.
“It will be a very important upgrade,” said Charles Leclerc. “It will determine how the rest of our season plays out. I’m looking forward to that and I hope that we can take a big step forward.”
“It’s going to be an arms race of upgrades this year, and I’m glad that we’ll soon have new parts on our car that will hopefully be as good as McLaren’s.”

Ferrari is to use its permitted Formula 1 filming days to validate its raft of upgrades ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Italian media has reported. Ferrari's intention to bring a sizeable package has been known for some time, with the team keen to focus on a new sidepod design inspired by the Red Bull RB20, as technical expert Paolo Filisetti explains here….
Private in-season testing with current cars is banned, but every team is permitted two 200km filming days throughout the year, ostensibly for promotional work, although they are often used to shakedown a car for the first time ahead of pre-season testing.
Formu1a.uno has reported that on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th May, Ferrari is to head to its Fiorano test track with race-drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to validate the upgrade package planned for its home race at Imola
