Does this rule apply only when you need to change between scrutineering and TC0? If you need to change between stages, then you are fine?

Should be like in F1. Fixed amount of motors but use them how you like.

To be fair to Tanak and the "zero motivation", that interview was soon after he found out his hopes of winning his home rally, which he hasn't won in 3 years now, were effectively over. Add that to an already very disappointing ssason and of course he's going to be p**sed off and not motivated. That doesn't mean he's going to still be that way tomorrow or for the while weekend.

Checked the rule. You can't change the engine during the rally. It is a retirement if you can't repair it.

16.1 ENGINE REPLACEMENT - ALL COMPETITORS
16.1.1 In the case of engine failure between scrutineering and TC0 it
is permitted to replace the engine but a 5-minute penalty will
    be applied.
16.1.2 Other than above, the same engine block and bodyshell must
be used from passing scrutineering until the finish of the rally.
16.1.3 The change of an engine after the start of the competition
element of the rally is not permitted.

    According to Millener, yes
So they discovered it after scrutineering

If I was in charge of Toyota, I'd arange sponsorships for M-sport behind the scenes to keep them afloat for as long as possible.

You get to ramp up titles in this mockery of a competition propped up by Neville-ran Hyundai and 3 dogs in a trench coat pretending to be a ford wrc team

    Interview video is here: https://sport.delfi.ee/artikkel/1202...ske-valja-tuua

He also said 2 times "we just need to drive it".
