WRC Pickems 2023

I decided to go organize pickems for one more year!

Rules setup the same way as previous years, summed up below. If you have suggestions for improvement, post and discuss them here quickly - I want to have the rules locked for the season when first cars take off in Monte.

Scoring:
Points are awarded according to the table below.

In case of equal score, the win is given to the better prediction of 1st place. If that is equal then better prediction of 2nd place gets the win etc.
In overall standings the lowest scoring round of each player will be dropped, starting from second round.

Predictions
Predictions will be made either in a designated forum thread (automated system on the forum, should we get it working later in the season.
Predictions have to be made using the format and rules described in the prediction thread.
Each driver can only be selected once - prediction 1 Tanak 2 Tanak 3 Tanak will not give you points for all the predicted positions.

New season of pickems brought to you by me and Rallyper

Monte Carlo
We start the season with a highest scoring round in my experience. 60 points is often enough to place on the podium but this round it is just an average result.
Hsmed takes the win with 88 points - it is a repeat of a second highest score in my era of pickems! Harry hairpin and mknight follow in 2nd and 3rd.

Points table in the first post and the monte results don't match accordingly, or I am being stupid here (quite likely). It seems prediction/result section has to be the other way around.

I am down the bottom of the points table with you. I blame the dry roads! Though opposite to your thinking, I thought Kalle might go off on some ice when first car on the road. I give myself a consolation point for picking Gryazin and Rossel to finish 7th & 8th.

I have had the Result/Prediction flipped on the table for 4 years, you are the first one to notice

Rally Sweden
Much more difficult than Monte - for me anyway. What I thought to be a moderate risk turned out to be an absolute disaster of a prediction, my lowest result ever...
Anyway, faith in Tänak and Ford paid off for many. EstWRC takes the win, cosmin_sb and raido follow in 2nd and 3rd.

Overall
Not much change in overall just yet, high scoring Monte pretty much defines the order.

Rally Mexico
Fordson takes the win with respectable 73 points, he is followed by doubled1978 and Jaja

Overalll
Still early days here so quite a lot of shuffling of positions. Lets see how long hsmed can hold on to the lead

I have decided there will be no pickems for Rally Croatia. I cant imagine myself congratulating the winner of our little game at a time like this.

I respect your standing. But don´t agree. But it´s your call. I let the thread be opened, for those who like to make a pick anyway. No points given. It´s ok.
As you could see I had the list changed in a respectful way.
