I know a lot of sarcastic notes here about Tänak's pace, but EstWRC is right, lot closer than last year, and also, you can see an over 1 sec improvement on all shakedown runs, which on a 2.29km test is alot. Also pointed out earlier, that Tänak rarely goes for top 1-2-3 times on shakedown.

So key point in the times is the development of times and time improvement between runs

Though I agree that Tänak rarely shows his hand on SD, then I also think it is pointless to compare times from last year because we have to remember what was the situation in Hyundai back then and how "ready" their car was.

But I'm optimistic - with every run, here is some improvement and I think that he is getting more and more familiar with the car.

I think its pretty optimistic by everybody to expect Tänak to attack from the first stage, more likely we will see the faster times on saturday. Everyone forgets that he has to start from 0. Beginning with setup, Pumas aerodynamics compared to Hyundai and everything else.

Edit: By faster times i mean 1-2-3 place stage times, i think realisticly if he is close to 3rd and 4th place by the end of tomorrow then all is good
Edit again: but i hope Tänak proves me wrong.

That understeer was present on the test vids as well, nothing new.
