How is showing SD simple or simpler than showing any stage? . Maybe I defend them because I know many people working in the team and I know how complicated it is. At the same time, I also complain when they screw it up in the middle of the rally. But for this shakedown, I don't care. The drivers rarely have much to say at shakedown stage ends anyway.

Well I wonder what happened with Breen and Huttunen on first run.

Could be just a stall/spin on a junction. Even with normally working shakedown coverage, we don't get to see what happens in the middle of the stage. We only get one land camera, often the start, and then the ending. This is a 9 km stage, lots of things could happen in the middle.

Antti, it's not the first time they are doing it. And it is what they do for a living.

Just imagine the shit storm, if the broadcasting team would royally screw up the Olympics opening ceremony.
Never stop dreaming because one day it might happen.

It's really not the same to broadcast rally cars moving at 120 km/h in the forest compared to Olympics in the stadium where everything has been built in and pre-wired for broadcasting. And same goes for all motorsports on circuits.

If the free shakedown on YouTube is supposed to be their "advertisement" to attract new paying fans to WRC+, I think they failed miserably today.
As a paying customer, I sure hope their coverage later today is better...

We got to see Solbergs crash on SD in Kenya basically immediatelly as it happened in the middle of the stage.

I also think that this stage or stages in Belgium are easier*to cover in compare to Monte for example. I believe*they had problems with airplane on radar I did not see above that area.

Sometimes there are happy exceptions, yes.

Live broadcast is a live broadcast. The moment it's live, there's no room for error as then you'll get some angry viewers.
