I feel the direction too often lacks intuition and living in the moment. It sometimes feels to me like it's being directed by a bot.
Ogier has his windscreen badly misted: "Let's cut to Evans finishing the stage!"
Neuville damages his wheel : "Let's cut to Evans finishing the stage!"
etc, etc...
Something is wrong in the direction when you notice that rally after rally you are yelling at your computer "why did you cut away?!"
If something important is happening, it's ok if I don't see every single car starting and finishing the stage. I can live with that, no problem.

Becks was funny on radio, with Colin, when you need to fill the time on long productions.
But commentating on TV, in short bursts, then you need some understanding and experience to make the audience informed.
And for us petrolheads, you need rally experience to see and report on details, to educate and make it interessting,
Is Motorsport TV just sending the all-live stream, or do they use own commentators?

I agree that the directing has been quite bad, not showing the action when it happens and also this year they've often played the audio from a wrong car.
As for always showing the stage ends stubbornly, no matter what's going on, and also the stage starts, it could well be a contractual thing. The manufacturers pay a big sum to participate in the series, in return they would get a close zoom of their cars (and all the sponsor decals) for every stage they start. I know that it's not working for us as hardcore fans, but...
Also, we always only remember the negative aspects. This year they've had land cameras on quite many All Live stages, something that was unheard of in 2018, only on the TV stages. In addition, things like the picture and picture during the interviews and pure sound option have been added likely after customer requests (especially the latter, I know it for a fact).

She's on WRC+ tonight so it's on topic, anyone else notice that Tamara Molinaro speaks English with quite discernible Irish accent now. Breen's rubbed off on her.

Only having BT Sport Extra to watch all the action in Monza the lack of the no-commentary option has been horrible.
The constant non-stop talking is soooo annoying. Why dont they shut up and just comment at he start with any important info like tyres and then only talk when something unusual happens ?
I watched most of it with the sound off.#M-SPORTER

good points for wrc+ this year: no commentary option and picture in picture stage end interviews
bad points: stage end reporters are very "basic" seems that the questions are from a can and very boring
some cuts i can understand that they are maybe due to contractual obligations and helicopter limitations, overall i'm satisfied with the service, it's still a bit amazing to me that we can watch a full rally live wherever you are when years ago we just had splits and radio if you were lucky.

Yeah. Also worth considering that they lost Colin Clark from stage end interviews and Molly Pettit was on maternal leave for a good part of the season. However, they've once managed to put Seb Marshall on the job and he was awesome.
This season the stage end interviews have been horrible because of the masks and social distancing the drivers cannot hear the questions as much as normally.
Fantastic weekend for the WRC, exactly what the sports need. An unexpected winner, that also shows some personality and emosions, perfect! Its also make one think, what could all the other talents...
