Making the cars harder/more unpredictable to drive (reduced suspension travel) might reduce the speed at which accidents happen, but it is also likely to increase the number of accidents.

Well the metastudies showed the consensus that when you count the full lifecircle, the electric cars become more "cleaner" in about 4 years, which is about a quarter of a lifetime of a car. So...
