So Mikkelsen is in a superb position to take advantage, and we know the Hyundai was supremely fast here last season. Difficult to tell what Paddon can do and where his mind is, but he also has a great start position. After losing places on the last stage in Monte, Lappi could be a dark horse as well and along with Mikkelsen, will be thinking he could make a bit of a gap on day 1 if things go well.

absolutely agreed...thats why i dont agree that Toyota guys will definitely win because their starting position is a disadvantage. Last year Neuville was 8th on the road on day one and he had a 28 sec lead after the day and 43 sec lead on day 2 before he binned it.

Although Ogier - Latvala - Tänak started as the first three on the road and they did actually quite good being 5th, 2nd and 3rd respectively after day one.

So, my money is definitely on Mikkelsen/Neuville and Lappi being the dark horse.
