Very nice time by Tidemand on SS17. I rather thought he and Mikelssen have set some pretty good times with their R5 cars vs. the new WRC17 cars.

It merely points out that the effects of small differences in conditions and how each driver pushes are way too big on short stages for any big conclusions.

Of course not. Last year there were huge gaps in WRC2 before the stage and most likely everybody was only cruising. Now we have a) Mikkelsen and b) fight between Tidemand (last year's winner) and Suninen.

So, Mikkelsen with Polo WRC 16 is just 6 sec faster than Mikkelsen with Fabia R5 17..

On that stage, it seems that WRC cars don't have much advantage on R5 cars.
