Come on Jarek, Castro may not be the fastest guy around, but he neither is Captain Slow rally version. An open bonnet made him lost huge time in SS3.
Overall, a nice Açores Rally first day. Katjo and Luky on an epic duel replay and five guys fighting for P3, with less than 10 secs between them! Great to see Moura and Magalhães in that pack. In 2wd there’s also a Portuguese driver on the podium, Paulo Antunes (208), behind the amazingly fast Opel duo. Strangely, national Gr.N crews don’t appear on ERC timing (probably some late FIA mess), but Teodósio is the Gr.N leader. Thankfully, eWRC is giving a full combined classification: https://www.ewrc-results.com/results...es-Rallye-2017
It’d be great to see today’s close fights continuing till the rally end; the challenging and tricky Azorean roads always provide fantastic rally action and last stage drama is becoming a local tradition. Fingers crossed!Rally addict since 1982
