Went through the new Hof-Finnskog stage on Saturday. Looks like a fun stage for drivers and competitors. There is a couple of spots where it will go very fast, downhill over some crests.
Personally I will probably end up at the Svullrya stage yet again, as I think the spot I were on last year, will be quite good this year as well, seeing as the cars are coming the other way.
Now, let's just hope for many days like Saturday before the rally starts. As snow is needed.

Snow isn't the only thing that's needed. The road needs to freeze as well.
Never stop dreaming because one day it might happen.

To get good winter conditions for a rally you need:
- Wet weather with rain.
- 1-2 weeks of -5 to -10 C barefrost (no snow) to get a good ice base.
- 1-2 weeks of Snow, preferably 1 meter + to get ok snow banks.
- 1-2 weeks of cold weather and usage of roads to compress snow.
- Rally 9-12 feb, sub zero temp.
So you need 3-6 weeks of teamplay with mother nature to get optimum conditions for a winter rally.
So if we use this recepie, we need to get "started" best case soon, and worst case mid january!

Keep calm and let mother nature do its job. No need to get nervous already 2 months before the rally.
Last year even the last minute watering of the stages did miracles in very short time.

Not much, I guess it was 3-4cm in total. What surprised me was that there seemed to be an ice base on the Svullrya-stage. Even though when we drove it looked like we went straight down to the gravel. We stopped on a spot to check if it would be useful to film there, we couldn't get going again, we just spun on the solid ice. It's far from enough to last a rally, but I didn't expect to see anything.
That won't happen here in Norway as we know already. The best case now would be to get some snow, and keep it below 0, and help out with some watering.
It's not in my nature to keep calm ^^,

Up here by Lillehammer two hours away it's been raining on frozen ground so it's like Svullrya was last year with lots of ice, 15 cm of snow with ice on top

At finnskogen it is no snow, no need for winterboots at the moment. I will take a look in chrismas if its more hope. But its much lesser snow these years than when i was a kid, thats for sure.

Frozen ground. After that min 5 cm compressed cold snow that gets wet through and frozens again. Then one meter of snowfall below zero - nad katjiiiinnggg!!! Perfect conditions for winterrallying.

Exactly, the WEC only had Toyota ready for Hypercar in the beginning, but look where they are now. The regulations were good, not perfect, but substantially cheaper than LMP1 and the manufactures got...
