Elfyn Evans entered in a Fiesta R5?

Our friends at eWRC have just made an assumption I think. The names are taken from this press release - http://www.walesrallygb.com/news/3688.php#.V_JGWfkrLIU

But if you read it closely they've kept it deliberately vague as to what he's driving. We know there are 64 entries but the list hasn't been released which is frustrating. I don't know this for sure, but watching how the MSA/BRC PR team has utilised Motorsport News this year there could well be some form of announcement on Wednesday.

Would be a bit of a waste to enter Elfyn in an R5. Plus from what I understand he'd have to run well down the order as he can't now be classified in WRC2. I think he'll be in a WRC.

A bit more on Evans' entry in MN today. True to the press release he has put in his entry that he won from winning the BRC. There's nothing actually in place yet and he says there's a 'slim chance' of it happening.

The intention is to do it in a WRC car but M-Sport are short on chassis - so it depends on whether they come through Catalunya okay. Wilson says: "We need to wait until after Spain. We're really struggling for cars. I'm sure Elfyn wants to be in a World Car in Wales, but the practicalities are that it might not be possible."


Reading between the lines I think he'll pull the entry if he can't do it in a WRC.

Well they aren't building any more current cars are they. I don't know for sure but I'm guessing the long-haul cars will be en-route to Australia. Doesn't make business sense to have a factory full of unused chassis. I don't think it's that hard to believe.

They said earlier tbis year that they basically have the two chassis and the test car to last for the main team all year - and the test car is shared for all requirements across all teams.
Henning runs an old-spec car, when he shows up.

If MSport are short of chassis providing a car for both Henning and Elfyn will be interesting. Have to think Henning much less likely than Elfyn to appear in Wales
