If you are giving notional time, you need to make it as fair as possible for everyone. To be fair, they should give to Meeke time of Sordo or Ogier or something between. But giving him better time than drivers set on the stage is total nonsense...

It is not important what will be at the end of the rally. This time IS unfair. Of course, any notional time cannot be 100% correct, but this is again one of the failure of the stewards on the rally...

Calling something 'fair' in this case is subjective. Meeke could argue that his pace during the day warranted that time. I do kind of agree that handing someone a quickest time they didn't set does seem a bit unjust. Meeke could have thrown it off like Paddon and Tanak so at the end of the day no solution is perfect. We can't predict the future. So there is no 'fair'.

In the stewards' defense at least they have tried to apply some logic to the situation.

Some Estonians spoke to Raigo and this is what happened: in the left hander it lifted the car to the other side and they hit a stone and lost a wheel. They landed just 1.5m from Paddon. Everything g was on fire so they dragged the car with hands away from paddons car about 5 meters.

I no its not the same situation as ogier being given 31 seconds in wales last year as he was in the stage and slowed to pass neuville. After his crash a time equal of sordos probably would of been the fairest outcome. But its the decision the stewarts have reached no amount of complaining will change it. Lets just enjoy the rest of this rally and move on

This is a big failiure by stewards. In case of forest fire, stage should have been immediately stopped and other cars stopped before reching to the scene. This is damn eucalypt forest that burns like gunpowder, they should know that? Imagine cars going through the forrest while it is burning and then spectators in the forrest who want to escape along the road while cars are still driving in competitive mode. Luckily nothing worse happened. This topic in such rallies and in such forrest must be more carefully adressed.
