Save of the season? Vargåsen 2, @SebOgier near enough flat out, so around 190KPH in his Polo & it steps out of line!

190 kph? wow. All-in-all very difficult win for him cleaning the fresh snow most of the time and going flat out, despite some drivers indeed eased him.
Positive surprises for me were also Breen and Suninen.... and Tanak - perhaps going in DMack team is doing him good as he seem more conscious about the conditions to handle, as in tyres in this case, job well done. Of course also Paddon did great rally as well with completely new car for him, this man is growing with each rally.

i am not sure if he had handicapped being first on the road, with the info we had about how much fresh snow was at all stages. For sure at some stages he had advantage, but cant know the percentage of kms for whole rally.

Too tired to do the podium this time, sorry!
That Polo, Ogier, at 01:15, it looked almost impossible that this car can go through the corner with that speed... wow

A little more info in this article: http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportblade...cle22263855.ab

    • When it comes the staging fee, it will be slightly higher for each year (sort of a step climb).
    • RS have received allot of instructions/pointers (pekpinnar) for next year that they have to solve before the summer.
I.e. accommodation and making sure that they rally is held in snow conditions. According to the article, Glenn Olsson at RS
says that week 6 normally is the snow safest week in the rally's region.
    • Very avoiding answer on how the are going to make sure that the rally is held in snowy conditions. Basically all of Europe suffered from southerly winds.
    • RS says that they have a plan each year that FIA, WRC promoter and the teams have to approve first.
RS Will evaluate this year's rally before deciding if there is anything that needs to be moved.
    • "The drivers want to keep it in Värmland", but the "only" one quoted is Pontus Tidemand.

Yes we don't know the percentage, but I was particularly impressed on Saturday stages.

Just to add that the great winners of this Rally Sweden are the organizers. They’ve done a terrific job! The contract renewal it’s great to them and to WRC, as RS is one of the most iconic events of the season. Like some of you already said, let’s hope they can get more northern ss to avoid weather risks.

It’s also great to see that this year the VW’s aren’t so far away from competition (Meeke at MC and now Paddon, they both put Ogier under real pressure!) and that WRC2 it’s full of young talented drivers.

One final note about Lappi: probably there’s too much criticism on him; Ok, he did a mistake (like so many others, including Ogier), but he got some extra pressure because of the silly start position that was given to him at first leg (like in MC). To me he’s the only one capable to fight Evans for the WRC2 title.

P.S.: terrible season start for Camilli. Hope he can get over it and start to show all his potential!
