Great maintenance in combination with shorter events could explain a lot. The difference in teams is huge, the price differences must mean something. There are several examples of same cars in different teams, where in one team a car always retired while some other (usually more expensive team) never has any issues with it. Someone mentioned Kronos here. The reason why Kronos isn't doing anything in rallying anymore because it's impossible to compete with the price of some teams and still deliver decent quality, as Van Dalen said in an interview some time ago.
