Salo was beaten man to man - no problems this time. Maybe a bit of over trying from Juha...

Teemu Suninen, definitely young gun to watch. Only 2nd 4WD rally for him and already a class victory in front of many experienced drivers. Congrats to Teemu and Mikko!Once it pop´s, you can´t stop...

On previous round, on the onboard camera of Salo I had the impression that he wasn't 100% confortable on the Peugeot. He wasn't as smooth as he looked to be with the Evo.

At least that's what I thought...

Must be some learning time for him of course. Heard something about lower gears as well... "Reis vas pät pat kaar vas kut"
Tommi Mäkinen, back in the years...

I think it was just the case of Salo not being as fast as the other guys. He hasn't really shone in Pohjanmaa-ralli (or whatever has the name of the event been in the area) in the past either. 2011 he had major unluck as his car burnt completely. 2012 he couldn't match the speed set by Lappi and Nikara, 2013 he couldn't match the speed set by Nikko and Nikara. Last summer, 2014, he was saving his EvoX which he had sold just before the event and he was way off pace. Between 2011-2015 Juha Salo has not won a single stage in this event. Also, regarding Pohjanmaa-ralli, back in 2013 it was held in Laihia, a local guy Nikko won, 2014 it was held in Lapua and Ylistaro region, a local guy Ketomäki was the fastest and this weekend it was mostly driven in Alavus-Töysä and again, a local guy Asunmaa won it.

What I'm really happy about is that Salo has brought a modern car to this series. It brings attention. I'm equally happy that Teemu Asunmaa has found significantly more speed compared to last year which is very good. Kristian Kiviniemi is also improving, perhaps a season or two behind Asunmaa now. Teemu Suninen is a different deal, but for his experience, he's doing well.

Next FRC event will be in the Eastern Finland, in Joensuu, mid-June. I will be visiting the event for the first time, so all tips are welcomed. Making the journey via Tampere it'll be around 600 kms one way, almost like going abroad for an event :-)Photos: rallirinki.kuvat.fi | Twitter: @HartusvuoriWRC

Also surprised by the result of Taisko Lario in R2: 2nd of class in Pohjanmaa whereas he didn't really shine on previous events(or even when he ran the Peugeot cup in France last year)

Nice driving from Teemu and very smooth rhytm in the pace note reading from Jonne. It must be a winning recipe

Congrats to both of You for 1st OA victory in the Finnish Rally Championship series!!

ps. I believe Teemu might have same advantage since he lives in the area, but everybody need to live somewhere... Once it pop´s, you can´t stop... Once it pop´s, you can´t stop...

Take a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9AjrnoskKg&app=desktop

It's an onboard video from last Saturday, driver Jari Huttunen. He is very promising young gun driving a C2 R2 at the moment in Finnish championship. For this end-of-the-winter-season he entered with older Opel. See what happens at around 2'50" - a perfect execution of a nonstop crash, roll and continue. No biggie....!Photos: rallirinki.kuvat.fi | Twitter: @HartusvuoriWRC

I always find it amazing how often the driver behind has "so much more pace" until given a chance to prove it. I do think the team first told him he was free to pass, but then later ordered the...
