Didn't Hyundai sign Atko mainly for (Oceanian) marketing purposes? I mean they got plenty of drivers signed, too many for just testing and events...

It seems those that fitted softs were expecting the rain to come during the stage. So far it has stayed away. This could be the most critical stage of the rally!
