I thought by first reading no way. It is a DNF with electric failure or something. By second reading i thought the car is not fast enough.

And now i have to laugh. They had some luck with driver errors from others, ut it is again Neuville and Sordo this year. First win and 1-2 for Hyundai!

    Good!

He was running to Neuvilles car down the vineyards and you couldn't hear the cars coming, really crazy to run there!

    oh deer...

Photo (taken by Thierry Denis) from a big moment for Mikkelsen on Panzerplatte. It's the downhill long right one (4th gear) I was talking about in my review, but this photo is from the first loop.

I went to this rally for the first time, so this is my take on it.
Generally, well organized, I didn't see any misbehaving marshals
The autograph session was quite good, got to see all the drivers and cars right in front of me.
The opening ceremony went on for too long, it started at 20:30 going in reverse starting order. I don't remember the exact time, but it was after 22h that we went around the back of Porta Nigra and saw all the WRC cars waiting to cross the starting ramp, talked to some drivers.
On Friday went to SS2/5 Waxweiler, since our hotel was half an hours drive north of Trier (there weren't any hotels in Trier when I tried to book a few weeks before the rally). Good stage, went to spectator spot 2 and later 4, but nothing spectacular, especially when you have long straights and a few corners on tarmac.
On Saturday went to SS7/11 Stein & Wein, spectator spot 3 where there is a 180° corner, one after the other, it wasn't a hairpin, so not so much action as expected.
Went to the Service Park on Saturday, had a nice look at all the cars and got to see them coming into service.
And went back home on Saturday afternoon, since it's a long way away and work starts on Monday

Overall, I'm happy with the rally, really well organized, eg, parking, direction etc.
But, I probably wouldn't go again, IMO, gravel rallies are more interesting to watch live (TV is another thing). Also, seeing that Rally France in October is free and quite close to this area, if you are on a budget it might make more sense to go there.

    Hi Joost,

Being an amateur video maker I can see the amount of thinking and work you did to look for the right camera angles. The result is really awesome, you ca^pture the sensation of speed, thrill and action perfectly and indeed put the official coverage to shame as far as I am concerned. (except the Michelin videos which I like as well)
Keep it up and all the best!
