Johan's father said they need more sponsorship before they can commit....
yes they are doing full season.
but yeah, sad to see the best team on the sport losing redbull AND the engine partner. apparently KMS switched to electric because the engine partner (horse power tech? something like that) took ICE block away. so weird.
btw, the championship posted on social media andrew/pat/bakku on the booth during euroRX last lap. so fun, they all cheering for the home driver (idk how to write his name). EuroRx still having the best racing this year imo
World RX lurches from one crisis to the next.
KMS may have committed based on Red Bull being there, but hopefully they can find new sponsors with the Championship getting free live coverage on YT.
watching this weekend's rallyx race at nysum (what an incredible track, btw) they had kevin eriksson on the booth and he was kinda saying they are "not giving up on trying to make the FC2 cars as quick as the supercars, but fc2 is fc2 and supercar is supercar" - and he did a gesture suggesting going "separated ways". not sure what that meant, especially after this weekend where fc2 cars beat supercars on semi final (and won the open 4wd class under torrential rain - good equalizer).
i like the fc2 car concept. i even think fia could go into that direction for the new RX cars for 2027.
make it more like the cross cars: get the fc2 as the general idea and open up to builders to produce 'their fc2' cars with different bodykits, for example.
omse build these, then kms, hansens, gronholm, abt, msport, prodrive could all build their cars (under these fc2 specs) just like they did with supercars.
just like in crosscars, where there tons of brands making those. i know its a totally different thing but its an idea. plus the fc2 cars can be races with smaller engines as the 'lites' class (since they are literally build on the same basis). 2 classes at once!
im still hoping they realize RX is not a thing for manufacturers. its something that gotta be cheap for privateers and family teams, period.
hansens are out from next race in Suomi :/
it looks like they lost some sponsor
eeeh
fia also announced the last round will be a doubleheadder in instambul (it was already the penultim round)
What a shock that Red Bull departs as promoter and takes their sponsorship with them.
I guess this is why the cars ran without Red Bull branding in Portugal. Only the Hansens brought it back. Desperation?
That championship is dead and the FIA killed it
pat o'donovan also not doing Suomi. kms dropped the 3rd entry they were planning for nills anderson on the petrol* car
thats 5 worldRX entries for Suomi!!. (johan, ole, niclas, klara, juha)
its not even enough for a 6 car FINALE!!
apparently world and euro are racing combined that weekend, with 2 separated finals
The electric kits they chose (like the hybrid kits in WRC) were too expensive, too complicated, caused the fire that led to the complete loss of an entire team, and then they ran a shabby rest of that season to cover their ass....
Every decision they made showed a lack of recgnition of the real level of rallycross. Including deciding to run it themselves when all other promoters dumped it....
Just read that Volvo CE dealer team will help Team Hansen so that they can do the final round.

woah!
RESPECT
hansen cars are painted grey and yellow, and the volvo team said they dont expect "collaborations" from the hansens. they want to see doors banging and hard racing.
however johan and OC are kinda "yeeeah, sure, they are not going to team up against kms, suuuure" lol
A similar thing has happened in the British Touring Car Championship. The workshops and all cars were completely destroyed in a fire at the base of Power Maxed Racing. With the support of other teams they have borrowed two cars to run to the end of the season.

kymiring made some adjustments after the rallyX race, the track looks WAY BETTER today in euro rallycross (all heats and finals live on their youtube channel). they are fixing the motocross track too after some complains during the mxgp race there last month or so
other "FIA european" championship that has been FINALLY getting some livestreams here and there for their races is the euroAX (autocross!). i find it so incredible. the top class is basically open, you can hear the different engine configurations. those buggys can be faster than the rx supercars. this weekend they are racing in Prerov, Czechia, with livestreams for both saturday and sunday. you RX fan should defently check it out. its going to be weird not knowing the drivers tho. ive been following for years now, so i "know" them all, really good characters and rivals. its an awesome sport! everybody PRAYS for FIA never starting the "world ax championship" lol

rallyx to compete at crandon next weekend during the amsoil championship off road : red bull world finals, with the group-e suvs.
tanner foust will compete, both eriksson brothers too
rallyx will race in crandon 2026 with the fc1, fc2 and crosscars. i think andreas eriksson is planing his attempt to host a rx championship in US? not sure why they keep trying this after seeing all the other attempts that failed simply because americans dont do RX.
AND for this weekend's demo race the electric SUVs will run with a.... fake engine sound system??? what? haha
waiting to read more or see videos of this new weird feat.
Hansen World RX Team have confirmed they wont be at the season finale in Turkiye as they still cant find sponsor backing.
I thought the FIA said they would invest in this championship.
How have they done that?
For the Final Round they've combined WorkdRX and EuroRX1 in the heats and made it a 1-Day event.
This must be the lowest point of WorldRX history.
For 2026 it's back to ICE power and a European Championship:

More interesting is that from 2028 its the same cars in wrc and the new wrx! Never heard thar before?

Turning WRX back to ERX is really good step. But being ICE exclusive from next season a huge FU to all teams and drivers who invested €400 000 just for the powertrain. Now they'll have to invest more money to rebuild the car back to the ICE powertrain. They just should have keep all cars until the regulation changes. I wouldn't be surprised if Volvo CE or Hansens would just withdraw until 2028.
im 100% happier now. hope no clashes with rallyx too. good! it is a niche sport, with not much money, its pointless to keep pretending it is a world championship without all the money from vw/audi/ford/peugeot/sponsors/f1 track promoters...
haha thats the point. when they were trying to make it a global championship there were investors believing it was possible: big sponsors, f1 track promoters, manufacturers. i love this sport but lets be honest, there was no RoI. it is just a niche thing after all. it took them 2 or 3 years to realize that (probably contracts with fines tbf) but eventually they all jumped out of that sinking boat. then came the pandemic.
but the most unexplainable thing for me was HOW ON HELL did redbull decided to take over a sport that brought NO RoI to anyone, put it behind a pay wall (???)... and then how the FIA believed having electric cars would be a good idea on a sport that brought NO RoI to anyone? on a sport that was build on "lets give these rich brits & scandinavian blokes a place for them to race their crappy cars". (no offense, thats literally one of my favorite sports hehe) this is beyond my imagination. i can only guess some kind of money laundering... ??
but anyway. going back to be an european championship is the right move. 100% (hope they grow up the rumored 6 events! even autocross is having 10 races/season). sure, have a "world cup' race or two overseas for the top guys who have more money, sure. but thats it. it is not a global championship. im honestly more excited than ever with this. hope they keep the broadcast haha
fia is trying to make rally2 (and wrc27) and rally4 even more interesting by having them also competing in national and regional rallycross. top eurorx cars would probably be rally2s and wrc27 cars but with the more powerfull rx engines (normally built by pipo, mountaine (idk how to write it), omse, oreca)
Which tbh isn't much different to now, many teams uses R5 based cars. Hansens built 208 T16 and DS3 R5 based RX cars, Gronholm and Andersson drives i20 R5 based cars, Kristofferson used to run Polo R WRC based car and now uses Polo R5 based car. Even Citroen wanted to enter the C3 R5 with electric engine.
Switching Rallycross to using the new spaceframe WRC27 Cars is maybe a way of ensuring more sales of these cars from any Manufacturer or tuner that invests in making them.
timmy hansen said recently next week they have some announcements. i guess one is probably about extreme e (they are having one last round with all teams and then theres the debut event for the hydrogen cars - both races in saudi... OF COURSE). but theres also something about rx in the making. no idea what it could be. i doubt its lancia tho.
volvo construction to leave the championship - including the whole track building thing and equipament
