You didn't realize the point. If Adamo had hired Paddon, then Breen would have remained a free agent for his rivals. By hiring Breen he thought Paddon would sit out the rally and the competitors wouldn't get a Rally Finland expert. But now Paddon could finish ahead of the Hyundais, meaning that Hyundai gets less manufacturer points.Quote:

I thought they were playing a joke, I couldn't believe it ... I didn't like winning the World Cup like that, it was the stupidest way to finish the championship.
What was it like to compete against Sainz? Do you consider him your greatest rival?
Carlos has always been a very elegant adversary, very good guy. I have very good memories of when we were running together. At that time we were always fighting among several drivers: Didier Auriol, Juha Kankkunen, Richard Burns ... I remember facing Colin McRae many times. We always gave the maximum of both. Without a doubt, the first. When you get behind the wheel, you have to concentrate one hundred percent and do your best. As a team leader, you have 200 people around you, helping you. I was wondering, if VW wouldn't have pull out, would have Tanak (and Neuville) become as good as they are now?
Meaning, Ogier+Polo was almost un-beatable, forcing the others to "overdrive", leading to crashes and poor consistency, resulting in frustration (?), and ultimately preventing drivers from reaching a higher level.
What are your thoughts?
Similar to the Hirvonen / Loeb era, would Hirvonen have become another driver in case Loeb+Citroen combo stop?
Neuville had enough crashes/i consistency even with Ogier in Fiesta. Maybe even more cause he had an advantage on start of the year and was too nervous as a result of that leading to Monte and Sweden crashes imo.
Not so sure about Tänak who first really developed as a driver when Ogier came to Msport. Would he get so consistent without working with Ogier for a year?
He was that consistent with DMack already...you can argue, that there was no pressure and places weren`t that high etcetc, but he managed quite average results, where DMack didn`t perform...and where DMack performed, he performed quite well too.
Neuville`s i20 in Monte was the car i believe...same thing happened to that car a few times after also.
First time he started consistently fighting for win was after Portugal 2017, almost 6 moths after Ogier came.
2016 with 5-7. places and multiple crashes is not exactly the same. Neither is first half of 2017.
What multiple crashes? You mean one crash in Portugal, a crater, where Paddon wrote his i20 off and many had just pure luck? Or a roll in Monte, which yes, was a roll, but i believe didn`t affect his place even? Finland was a crash yes, in an intense podium fight. Only one then...
And what was there wrong with the first half of 2017? Mistake in Corsica, yes...Ogier made one in Finland for example...

My wife received some pictures and video from a friend last night of a very special prize that she won.
She was at Goodwood fos and taken for high speed passenger ride with a certain Mr Solberg around the rally stage in his 2002 rally GB Impreza WRC.

The worst thing I have seen in my life is spectators taking selfies while sitting literally half a meter away from the point where cars were landing after a pretty big jump in Acropolis Rally 2018. I was pretty sure that someone would get killed but these guys were really lucky.
