Well it's Ogier, he will do everything "within" the rules to get some advantage. Last year at Msport he went as far as forcing FIA to change the rules as you all remember. He is a magnificent driver, but also a bit of an *hole.

I wonder why Bulacia has superally time. There is now way in hell for this pile of scrap to be repaired.
i think citroen we careful not to say ' you must go around bridge' ...all they said in autosport.com was that the right hand way was baricaded off on recce.... well on the 1st pass it wasnt... no penalty..

"The rule is very clear: we have to follow the road book. And the road book is very clear: there is a barrier and you go [on the left].
"During the recce the gate [on the right] was closed and there was also a barrier - we know this because we checked from the recce video.
**
also... budar says.. "It's not our job to check. We have seen on some videos two different lines, so it's now for the FIA or somebody to check what is the proper line to be followed."
so they dont know if anyone went right or left... they only seen tyre marks?
but ogier at stage end was adament, that the order will change...
so, if the videos are not online... how does ogier know that the order will change? how does me know if nevuille, mikkelsen or meeke.. went right?
has budar some inside information? and how did he get it?
it gets even better...
Kaj Lindström sayin the problem on SS13 wasnt alternator related, there was a loss of power for Tänak because the valves didnt open after watersplash and the engine didnt get enough air.
Anyway looking forward to watch the onboards,
It's on 18:09 Ogier's time.
The ones that drove before were: Suninen, Latvala, Sordo, Mikkelsen, Meeke, Tanak
Neuville went after but he also could have cut then.
shiiiiiit... thats bad.
Ogier must've seen and been following the lines, then saw they went right when his notes said left.
They just showed onboard of Tanak and Meeke who went right.
guys dont know if its right or false, just post it here

Meeke and Tanak took the wrong way, the rest they didn't say.
There are clearly given requirements for the rollcage and during the homologation the manufacturer is obliged to proof they are met.
I admit I don't know what exactly is required now but when I studied the rules roughly ten years a go the rollcage was being loaded only in a semi-static case in the homologation testing/simulations per FIA requirement (15 seconds to reach the full load if I remember correctly). The testing load was 7,5 x (vehicle weight + 150 kg) for the main arc and 3,5 x (vehicle weight + 150 kg) for the front arc in that time (no crack and no deformation over 50-100 mm as a limit was required). The minimal size of the broken tube was 35 x 1,5 mm if I am not mistaken. It's very clear that in this case of Bulacia's accident the load compared to the testing conditions was higher by an order of magnitude at least.
It looks horrible for sure but we don't know how other rollcages would behave in the same kind of accident when the car flies in the air and lands exactly on the roof. This is very freak accident configuration.

Having assessed the damage back in service, the team have decided to retire @ElfynEvans and will now focus on preparing the EcoBoost-powered Ford Fiesta WRC ahead of the next event in Chile #WRCLive https://t.co/DyiEQmtjHD
so Neuville took the left side road as Ogier i read on twitter
thats not only luck, Ogier knows how ro drive :)

How much did Ogier gain for hitting the barrier last year in Mexico? Hitting a barrier or cutting a corner should never be penalized in a rally because it’s part of the sport nature; the purpose is to follow the route without the need to be inside its limits, once this is not circuit racing. Unfortanetly some years ago the FIA officials started to think differently and penalties become current; in that sense Ogier is entitle to ask for those to be applied.
Btw, this ‘Tanak dominates until car fails’ routine is frustrating; only WRC2 Pro farce seems to be worse (even if Ostberg stopped moaning). Hopefully P2 figth will be exciting to follow; fingers crossed.
Well it is not hard to see that the Ogier penalty in Mexico 2018 was a lot about "punishing" him for starting the Powerstage mess in Sweden. (followed in Mexico by Neuville and Tanak)
EDIT2: Actually after double checking the attached pic does indeed show the correct spot in the roadbook.
Seems to just show "go trough gate" (probably marking a pole on the right side, since both sides were open and there was a pole on the right in both openings it's imo hard to punish people for not following it.
at least the fans are happy https://www.facebook.com/MartinJarve...5464921643106/
fair play to spectators..👍👍
Do we know whether Tanak will restart and be in the power stage?
if flap stuck closed.. simply means engine starved of air... if flap stuck open... it could mean bent engine valves.
"I said last night that it was necessary to copy and paste the first day, and today, we managed to do better!" Exclaimed Thierry Neuville at the microphone Olivier Gaspard, the envoy RTBF special in Argentina We can be very satisfied with the day The car was impeccable I knew that Ott Tanak had a problem, he started the engine just five seconds before starting the stage. He knew he was not going to go very far, everything can still happen tomorrow, we'll have to manage better and try to get through the three stages we have left, they're pretty brittle. we know that we will probably be struggling on some upcoming rounds (sweeping Friday, especially in Chile, Ed). "
"I was in a fight with Ott Tanak, and he seems to have cut too, and in that situation I would also be pleading for a penalty." I went to the left. Nicolas (Gilsoul, his co-driver, Ed) had told me during the reconnaissance that it was absolutely necessary to go to the left, by the barrier. It is certainly easy to lose three to four seconds, but That's how it was, in previous years you could go right, this year no, and you have to respect the course, but my main competitor is not racing, so somewhere I do not care!
