I'd like to repeat myself regarding Kalle and WRC... :p But seriously, ofcourse he needs to be in WRC2 next year. 2020 is then the time for the main class. But nevertheless, what a time on SS3. Wow.
Tänak is once again untouchable, but that's nothing new. Hats off to Evans, after poor 2018 he's finally showing that last year maybe wasn't fluke after all.

What a start for Rovanperä, again! Over 30 sec difference to second WRC2 car (Greensmith) on one stage.

Tomorrow could be a tough day, 150 km SS in these conditions, without a Mechanic able to touch the car.
Could be a decider for the championship if a crew is unlucky, for instance with punctures, or gearbox.
Why not have a quick service in the field?

The Saturday just having a remote tyre-fitting and no service shows the return to the SP in the middle of Friday isnt really necessary.
So, do you still agree? Would you like to see the M-Sport star Ogier complete the day with no 1-2 gears and possibly retire? ;)

to save money
Against the regulations, which have been made to cut costs.
I guess FIA could come up with a rule to allow remote servicing with limited amount of mechanics and limited amount of parts they are allowed to take with them, otherwise it would become an arms race and soon the teams would be building remote service parks to compete with each other and the costs going up the skies...

Not having service on saturday ain't gonna save any money. It can only ruin somebodys rally and result. And if one tries to limp thru the stages with a damaged car(gearbox, diffs or whatever), the final cost may be higher, coz maybe it will be impossible to repair the part.

"We had a difficult morning, we were the first on the road, and it was very difficult to judge the grip without being able to trust the traces of our opponents, said Thierry Neuville at the microphone of Olivier Gaspard, the envoy RTBF special in Wales, then the settings were not suited to the conditions, and the car was very difficult to fly, but we did the maximum, being once again the best Hyundai crew in the race. the day, but the Toyota are obviously very fast, and Ott Tanak was able to widen the gap. There was a nice afternoon after, our engineer worked well to give us better settings, and the road has evolved in a direction that was better suited to the car, we were able to attack a lot more to get to the second position.
"Tomorrow, we can expect a better day, took over, with a big smile, the leader of the World Championship. This will be another type of special, a little faster, a little wider than today and we will be able to bet more on taking risks if we want, at a certain moment, to try to catch up a little bit of time.I hope we will be in the game and that we will be able to maintain the pressure on Ott. other Toyota stick me in the ass, it will have to roll fast to keep them behind! We’re warching cars that are quicker then group B and they look so, so fast when they go by.
The ‘16 cars were good to watch, but they always looked like they have ran out of power on gravel, whereas these things look like the driver could command more power at any time.
Shame about the boy today, but I reckon they’ll let him come back and smash every stage tomorrow, even if it’s not for position.

Really tough day for M-Sport & it seemed so unfair after the mechanics did a great job on Ogier's car at lunchtime.
It was a great insight getting behind the scenes at their service area on today's MS-RT Members tour. We got a huge amount of info about the cars & logistics plus some details about testing, tyres and the driver's preferences which havent been made public.
Seeing all the Team working so well together in all its different areas was fascinating. Ogier was in contact with so many people it showed how he gets a whole squad behind him. He also showed his gratitude to them all before leaving.
All this made the loss of Evans and Suninen so soon afterwards really unfortunate. It seems this rally has bitten back after the glory of last year.
I hope the team get something better to encourage everyone. Ogier is promising to attack so we'll see if he can get back into the fight.

I bet Ogier is regreting to not accept Toyota now. He knows that Citroen will not be dominating car from start when he start driving it. He will have a full hands of work and that doesn't necessary means that he will win 2019 title or 2020. Neuville and Tanak are in great form and probably will be next year even more (with experience with their cars, while Ogier don't have any except that test).
