F1 takes place in a tightly controlled environment. Providing a coverage on a fixed circuit is much easier than providing the same coverage on various 20-30km stages in the middle of nowhere.

F1 has no risk of losing contact with split times because it never goes anywhere interesting.
And losing all contact like this doesn't happen often at all, so I don't know what you're making such a big deal about.

Of course if You are willing to lose billion Euro in every event You can do what You want. Seriously people don't think only about what is technically possible but also what is realistic from the money point of view. Reliable quality live coverage from rally stages is very very expensive. Sound connection from the end of the stage only needs an Iridium phone with some 300 USD to buy the phone l + 1-2 USD min/charge. Cant see how that is unrealistic from the money point of view.
Also they mentioned they have some satellite link (guessing Inmarsat), but they "didn't take it with them to the stage cause it didn't work last time". Oh well, professionalism.

Interesting afternoon in store. Given his issues on the first two rounds, does Neuville push on and risk throwing away more big points. Or does he continue to try and put Evans under more pressure - knowing that the Welshman is in uncharted territory...
Tough call, but if Neuville wants to overhaul Ogier this year he needs to take some serious points out of him.

Evans has the financial support from and drives with DMack so i don't think Wilson will give any order for the moment (to possible upset DMAck), maybe only in the end of the season where the big price is there. But why now talking about orders, first let's see what the first stage brings. I think a win for Evans is the best thing M-Sport can have, also for Ogier.

Tactic dilemmas:
Evans has nothing to loose imo and will try to push, he has already shown speed. Champ points don't matter for him personally and for team there are 2 other fords.
Neuville, prbly starts fast and see. If he is not closing in he wouldn't risk it, he is gaining points on Ogier after all.
Tanak is likely to push no matter what.
Ogier I think he will play it safe and focus on power stage, hoping one of those ahead makes a mistake. Either way he'll be extending on Latvala and a point loss to Neuville even if he wins wouldn't be very high.
The narrow and twisty bits are going to suit Hyundai more than Ford.
