I thought his drive is "fixed" and the difficulty slider applies only when I race alone against the clock. Anyway, I appeared to be wrong and passed it very easily. Thanx for the idea!

The only issue is the game release here in Australia! 29th of NOV!!! You can get the game already in NZ! Why does it take so long to get it in Aus?! I go to shops and they say no game but some orders for it!!! Might try to buy from NZ. I'm missing out!

Milestone made an update for the Adroid and iPhone version of the game earlier this week (!!!!!!). What a marketing wise useless choice to prioritize a game that is out for free instead of those who have purchased their games. It's running one and a half month since release now, an still no update...

I think the patch for pc/consoles will fix quite a lot of things, so we must be patient.

Couple of questions guys:
1- Does the game have leaderboards?
2- I own both PS3 and Xbox, what copy shall I get?
3- can you suggest a gaming driving wheel that can be used for both PS3 and Xbox, something not that expensive.
On other note, couple of pages back I saw a link to VVV article about WRC3 and Dirt 3, at the end of article there was a speculation that Dirt 4 will be more rally sim. I have played wrc 2010, it was ok game, and reading about the WRC career mode feedback from you guys, says it lacks some interactions, like service park, shakedown, and other features that may make it more sim, will this made me in doubt for getting the game! so what do you think about that speculation, as I remember playing CMR in my Pentium PC!! and it was really great fun and nice sim.

Welcome Frostmourne :)
1- Does the game have leaderboards?
No, at least not yet.
2- I own both PS3 and Xbox, what copy shall I get?
WRC3 on xbox looks better than on PS3.
3- can you suggest a gaming driving wheel that can be used for both PS3 and Xbox, something not that expensive. Don't use a wheel, so can't help...sorry! :p

WRC3 career or championship mode, has not such features as shakedownn stages, service park or podium footage, but the game Is very much focused on rallying. Actually, It's the most solid rally game since the WRC PS2 series and CMR series up to CMR5. Special stages are very technical and quite difficult, cars physics are more sim that the previous titles, graphics and sounds have been Improved too. Judging from your post, I assume you are a rally fan/gamer, so go for It. ;)

Frostmoure, I got the game on Sunday and I was massively impressed by it and I have the whole WRC series, the PS2 series and Dirt3 and I think it's the best one of the lot. Very good with some tricky stages and the physics are great. I recommend getting it, that's for sure. As for Dirt4, I don't believe that because Dirt has moved away from the rallying theme too much now to care about the physics that much. Certainly I didn't enjoy Dirt3 because of the lack of rally content, something that WRC3 does have.

Thanx lcd and Bruce D for your comments. I am a rally lover and gamer, and from the demo i tried on PS3 driving was nice. I think I will give this game a chance and get it on xbox 360, as lcd says it better on that platform.
Regarding the Leaderboards, any ideas if they will implement them in the future, I think it is nice to see where you stand among the crowds, it also (to me at least) motivates you to do your best for some bragging rights :) .
Will try the demo on xbox and see how it feels ( the controls mainly) if not satisfied with the gamepad, I want some suggestion for not so expensive gaming driving wheels that work for both platforms (xbox and ps3).

Hey does anyone know what the best set-up is for the JCW on rough gravel events? For the championship mode I use it quite regularly. I find it best on Tarmac but on events like Sweden, Portugal, Greece, Argentina, NZ, GB and Italy I cannot find the right setting. The car does not have enough traction in the events mentioned above and it cannot do jumps (I find it front heavy and the body is ruined by stage end). If anyone could suggest I good set-up for these events I would be very grateful. Cheers!

Milestone confirm today that they are working on a patch for the game - nearly two and a half months after release. Great support..

Well by the same token you could have Codemasters, who patched F1 2012 I believe a record 9 times in the space of as many weeks after release, but only on PC. And when I read the change logs on those patches it was stuff they were battling with on F1 2010... ;)

I just got the game!!!! (YESSSSSS!!!!!)
But!
How the hell do you control the car????? Around hairpins or some corners the power in the WRCar is exeme! Even the Proton Satria which I love is nuts! Is there anyway to change the steering? Is it the torque? It's mental.
Plus it seems I suck at the game... Think I've set it to just past half way in difficulty with competitors!
Graphics are great so are the cars but the steering, it's sooooo touchy!

I've driven on Rally NZ stages before, and WRC 3 Rally NZ is pretty much SPOT on! Amazing Graphics!
Just drove Rally Finland in an Evo X. The best!
Now I wish I could have a Mitsubishi WRC05 and a Suzuki SX4 WRC and an Octavia and the old Xsara in this game!!!!

Set the car to automatic gears at the start of the stage, when your car has left the start line, change back to manual gears.

I got the game for xmas and so far, as a casual blast im really enjoying it! most of the stages I have driven so far are waaay better than the previous games, though the tarmac in Crychan annoys me as the great orme is over 3 hours drive away in real life! Sweden is great, as it NZ though the shadows are a bit extreame in places and I find it hard to see where to go...
The damage makes me laugh. Apparently ive just completed a stage in Mexico with a snapped piston and seized engine, both which can be repaired in a couple minutes!! Seriously who the hell in the development team comes up with this crap?!
Anyone else on xbox have a 2mb update today?

Actually coming back to it, you can handbrake, brake and all at the same time as accelerating! I've gotten use to the WRCars and love Finland, Germany and Monte! Evo X still a good car, DS3 and Focus too. Mini not so much and thought I'd be happy with the Polo R but don't care haha over all, great game!

Not a clue if im honest, but as standard the Mini does handle badly, especially over the bumps!
Just doing a PWRC round in Argentina and Louise Cook is winning it in her little Fiesta! Just like real life I guess!

Hi all,
Any modders out there know how to turn off the windscreen damage the cracking is a nice touch but it cracks way to easy over small jumps and even hitting the little red and white tape track makers ive just started to really enjoy the cockpit view (thanks to ec sim plugin dont like seeing steering wheel so move cam forward) and it just spoils the whole thing
cheers Dag

I've heard that codemaster will be developing the next one more likely the 2014 edition though. I hope so rumours have it Gymkhana will be removed and longer stages (30min+) will be brought back.

How can longer stages (30mins+) be brought back when they have never been there before? Where did you hear the rumours?

And I thought Milestone had the contract for a few more years. And yeah, the last time anyone had anywhere near 30min+ stages in the standard game was Pundershaw in Rally Championship 2000!

I guess Milestone will. Or have they said something about not making WRC 4?
I drove Rallye de France recently, here are the stagetimes (a little competition, eh?)
Pays d'Ormont 2:22.77
Vallee de Munster 3:03.76
Hohlandsbourg 2:52.28
Salm 2:36.75
Firstplan 4:33.54
Grand Ballon 1:42.47
They were servicing the Playstation Network so these are not seen on the leaderboards. The PSN's ArskaTehtaalla1

I just got this game last week. I think the handling/physics are pretty good. My main gripe is that there are way too many repeated stages/parts of stages. On some rallies, you feel like you are just driving the same stage over and over again. Only other complaint is the total lack of fanfare if you get on the podium or win a rally. There should be some podium footage or something similar.

That's so "funny" that Milestone have not yet realised any updates or patches for the pc version.... It so.... Milestone is a very stange company, do not even bother to update a non functional game to their customers....
I have deleted the game from my PC and I'm gonna throw that ****ty game in the trash...
I have no words what I think about Milestone. Will never again buy any wrc-games as long as Milestone has the contract...
Over and out.

I agree with the above, just got the game for PC. (though getting a go on it when my son isn't playing it is hard work lol). I agree about the stages being repeats/reversals of the same parts over and over. As I understand it though there is a very limited budget for the game compared to some of the competition, so I can understand the tactic. I'm sure all of us would love full accurate stages in a game, but for now WRC 3 was worth buying in my opinion. My only other gripe would be the cartoon career mode, it was better with the Academy.

I don't like career mode at all. In fact, I don't see what it adds to the game. I just play in WRC mode where I can use my favourite drivers. When do we get a patch again? I play on 360 and its still not 100% perfect yet.

I really have no words for how rubbish Milestone treat their customers. This patch better have some major upgrades - and WRC 4 better be a large improvement too.
I guess the upcoming patch, will be quite huge. And logically, WRC4 will be a massive Improvement.
I think now they are ready for the big step.

Can someone please email the guys who made WRC3 the game for this year 2013 WRC to change the stages!!! They are similar to WRC from year before, make the weather change and not always the same ie Rain in France!
The stages, I can remember parts of roads from game before... Make a few stages in each rally 14km long in distance. Yes 7km is long but make a longer one! Finland is same as before, I wish Jordan was in but Italy is brilliant and Rally NZ is horrible. Nothing like the real stuff... Too much dark and trees... Rally Australia will be back but it's not like original rally Aus so no need to make real red roads!
