For your Information, Blackbean Is no longer envolved with WRC3. Milestone Is both developer & publisher ;)
My bad. Still; do you know if the cars will have more obvious differences in performance? The 01A and 01B seem to be very different cars...

They need to bring Rally Sweden to new life like all the rallys! They can't let any of the rallys untoutch.
Because WRC and WRC 2 is so so boring and not like rally at all. These games and stages can they not be proud of!
They need to update the graphics and stages in all countris to the realese in oct!

Maybe widen the stages in Sweden with the hard banks!! Soften them a bit!
I don't care for these "screen shots" because that is not what we are going to see when playing! Unless you just want to watch replays all the time!
Physical car driving shots and videos are what I want to see!!!

Thank you very much man!! :) yes SADLY nothing is change this year in Sweden. BUT I really hope that Finland is, because that rally was soooo ****ing lame and unreal in WRC 2. I really hope that Finland is like in Dirt 3 but even better whith both tight and wide roads!! Then we have to wait to WRC 4 to have it all changed, they want to do longer and satelitefoto stages for next year like they been saying so WRC 4 will be awesome I think!
Iv only been playing RBR since 2004 and WRC 3 is the first rallygame I is going to get à chans! :) The other WRC games has been à big joke to thoes who really is à rally sim fans and love the life of rally!

First reactions from Alan Boiston (VVV) and the guys at InsideSimRacing, are possitive regarding sim feeling and I believe them.
They have played hundrends of racing/rally games through the past years, so they know what they are talking,
though their copy wasn't complete-Alan didn't even have a co-driver at some stages!
Anyway, It won't be a RBB for sure, but If there Is more sim In the game, that will be a huge success, for rally fans!

Thanks for all the screenshots lcd! :)
Yeah they have all been good, and the videos too.
With the Argentina stage, I do recognise it as stage 5 from last year's game.
For every rally in WRC 2, there are 3 routes. Each stage has 2 of the routes in it.
The format for every single rally is
Stage 1: Route A & Route B
Stage 2: Route C & Route A (backwards)
Stage 3: Route B (backw) & Route C (back)
Stage 4: Route A & Route C (back) [Stage 2 backwards, same ending as previous stage (so you'd better had show some improvement or Malcolm will be cross!)]
Stage 5: Route B & Route A [Stage 1 backwards]
Stage 6: Route C & Route B [Stage 3 backwards, same ending as Stage 1]
But Argentina seems to take place in a FOREST now! It suits me fine as it looks lush. It looks like Mushroom Hill zone from Sonic & Knuckles actually.
The only problem is like someone said, is that what it looks like in real life? (I don't have a problem with it, it looks great)
I've noticed where you could cut across and straightline certain series of bends last year, now there are rocks in the way. The road is also narrower, so it's more challenging this time round!

We should expect some new preview videos, by the end of this week or the next one ;)
Fingers crossed to see new stages for Finland...
Meanwhile, you may find this quite Interesting: A guess of the possible stages layout:
If AC and CA are about 6 min then AB, BC, CB and BA will be around 3min. each.
Much better that DiRT's 1.30min. stages. (Based on the times made In Insidesimracing's Spain rally video preview)
The A point will be the Start of AC and the Finish of CA and BA. The B point will be the Start of BA and BC
but the Finish of CB. The C point will be the Start of CA and the Finish of AC and BC.

Okey lcd! :) thanks for the heads up! ;) yea, I REALLY hope that its going to be new built stages for Finland! Going to make a great deal for this game! And I hope and think they will do it better then in Dirt 3 when Milestone make this SS! Dirt 3 stages is sooo short and boring. The only good thing is that they succeed to make the road realistic and the jumps in some place. Its looks like Finland and I think Milestone with there new graphic engine will make it look even better! :)
I have really high hope for this game now!
Only thing is all the cars sounds, I hope they do a good job now with this and succeed! A skoda s2000 should sound diffrent then a Peugeot s2000 and the Mini and the Wrc cars also sound diffrent if we listnen to a Ford or citroen. They must fix this for this game!

After passing through these forums on several occasions over the months ive decided to give my ten pence worth,as a veteran to video games i totally agree with the instant haters to the milestone/blackbean wrc franchise, they have brought it upon themselves with their over the top hype and false claims to greatness prior to release of the last to iterations of the game, when in reality what they delivered where two of the most sub standard attempts at recreating this truly magnificent, historic Motorsport. As a small developer we understand their limitations financially, but when you take in to account they could afford to purchase the wrc licence and have seemingly acquired an extension to the lease they would then be able to put together a descent game that can fill a sizeable hole in the market left by evolution studios wrc and colin mcrae codemasters point to point timed staged events, they knew the market they were buying into and headline history suggests a small limited one at that, but don't believe the hype the above games sold in their millions annually throughout Europe then the greed set in and the powers that be went for world domination with dirt, motor storm etc etc to the dismay of the mainly european rally market, while these diluted rally titles have mass appeal they don't fulfil our rally needs.I have to mention RBR as it has kept rally alive but in all honesty it had a second coming due to the fact there was nothing else around, originally it didn't sell well. So until milestone delivers a truly current generation video game they deserve all the hate they get, seems we will have a clearer picture come the demo.

9th September 2012, 15:18
Well I think I actually have to agree with a lot of that, as I felt in many ways the Evolution Studios games (10 YEARS AGO!) had better graphics for their time and just seemed much more professional and at a higher standard.
On the other hand, the Miletsone games have included SO many features that I'm digging, that would never appear on an EVOS game. More drivers (14-15 was pathetic really, same for RBR), all those stats! The offline stats are absolutely amazing, I would only say add more. It adds another dimension for me and makes the game much more enjoyable. And there are more than the absurd 3 stages on Rally Evolved!
That last point must never happen again, as I was absolutely aghast 7 years ago.

Thanks again lcd for the videos! Here's what I think:
First of all, Milestone - Its so fun and its warming to aee that you guys do everything you can to make us rallyfans satisfyed!! Good work BUT do more to the game and keep on going and devolep the game further! You are on the absolutly right way for a succsess!
Graphic and detail on cars and SS:
The graphic over all is Really good, very very nice! It looks beautiful! Good work there!
The details on SS is mire good then bad but its more to do for the ultimate realism!
I LOVE that you now use the small start clock as in real but guys, let it countdown from 10 instead of 6. 6 is better then 5 but 10 is perfect! ;)
Also please fix a start clock on the ground as in real, not so hard...
Then even more detail on stage, MUCH more public/people in the stage, much more. Even more marshalls, camera/foto guys, flags, for example the french, finnish, spain, norway, swedish that fans brings! Arrows like in junction is a great detail that you miss.
Over all, its on the absolutly right way but its much more to do about the details for the ultimate realism...
Cars in this two videos looks very very good graphical... But!!!!! The cockpit view??? Come on, the R2 Fiesta dont have a WRC steeringwheel!! The whole car MOST look like in real, that you need to succeed with! The graphic and realism over the cars needs to be 150% - the fans would not except anything less.
The cars do NOT use mudflaps on tarmac!!! Do not use mudflaps on cars in tarmac rallys please - again - realism... The small deatails!
Physics and sound:
Physics, I dont know - need to drive the game/sim with my G27 but tje sound! ****, thats bad!
Really really bad!
A R2 Fiesta with anti-lag!?! Come on now!!! Nooooo anti-lag!
Not even the newer WRC cars and S2000 use that type of anti-lag!!!! Put it away for ever!!!!
The sounds is not good at all, really bad!!
Guys, a realistic sound of eatch and every car is a must! The Mini will sound as a mini and the fiesta as a fiesta, the proton as a proton! You know what I mean, its not hard at all to fix!
I really hope that the sounds in this preview is from WRC 2 or some ****y game! And that Milestone dont show us the sound yet!
But over all, really good but you need to work with all the small and big details!! The real realism is soo important!! Simfans need that!!
Good job and keep it up, do not be satisfyed! ;)
Thanks again

Judging by those videos they'd be better off cancelling the game and pushing it back a few more months til they've got the sounds and graphics sorted. Can't believe that they've spent time developing all those extra modes, they clearly aren't going to match DiRT for sales, so why try to create the same product? The stages look good, but judging from the ABC thing they will still only have a handful of layouts.
I was looking forward to this game, especially having not bought WRC2, but sound is such an important thing for a rally fan that I won't even bother with renting this game...I may not even download the demo. Poor effort, and in the face of such great feedback from fans.

Thank you lcd for all the updates! I think with this pic to judge that WRC 3 will be a great game if we see to the graphics. It will be a beautiful game! (I hope!! To judge by videos and screenshots)
In that case, Milestone will succeed what it seems to...
BUT!! Graphics are a big part for making the game "real" but the absolutly biggest part in no1 is physics/REAL sound. Without that, the game/sim is nothing!!!
The only ones who will be playing it without these things are arcade-fan and I hope that Milestone understand that they really need the real rallyfans who love the true sport of rallying and those needs realism, true realism = sim like RBR look alike. BUT in these days the RBR game would not survive either... The game must have some content like the new WRC 3 and that is not a problem for me. Only they have a true sim career.
They need to fix real sound and if Dirt 3 almost can make it and the OLD rbr CAN do it with fans all over the world, then Milestone can do it. Its not hard. Thats make me angry! Physics like in RBR colud Milestone also fix if they want it. I ät dosent need to be exactly like RBR but WRC and WRC 2 physics is a BIG joke! A 7 year old boy can like it but a person who can drive a car hate it! If they dont like true arcade???
Please Milestone, you guyes is on the edge to make something really big here. Do not trow this away!!
Personally I give WRC 3 one chans and possibly WRC 4 but if nothing happends then im out. Sadly I think that many people just gives this game one chans to succeed! If you dont care about the sound and the physics now, you will loose thousends of fans based on the two terrible games in this series!!
I will wait to judge this game 100% till its out but im sadly being worried! Based on the last videos, road to glory!
But it seems like Milestone still working on the game and thats great! Keep it up!

A couple of more things to point out from the single stage mode:
* There is a somewhat strange feeling to the handbrake. At first it doesn't seem to react, before the car suddenly flicks around and the car counter-steers a couple of times.
* The grass on the inside of the corners is a bit sticky and slows the car down in an unatural way.
* The replays look better, and the car model looks more well proportioned. However, they have included an ugly and unrealistic field of view effect for the exterior replay cameras.
* The co-driver sound is OK. A big upgrade from WRC 1 and 2, but still a bit robotlike.
* The engine sounds are still a dissaster, let's hope they are better for the full version, because I can hear no difference between the demo and WRC 2.
* The physics are actually pretty good. It's easy to start attacking when driving, but the car still has a strang kind of grip both on gravel and tarmac which is hard to explain.
* The dust effects are alright.
Now to test the career mode!
UPDATE:
* The Ford Fiesta WRC has a new car sound, but I wouldn't say it has improved much. It's still very "metallic", just like the DS3.

Bennizw: If thats true, about the sound, and I think that you Have right! Then its sooooo ****ING sad!! How hard can it be to do that small but big thing right!!! Its unbeliveble!!
I hope they fix that for the realise!!
But if you talk about the game and rallyfeeling, is it much better then WRC 2?! Is it a good and life like feeling when you drive a stage??
Is it more like a sim now then tWRC and WRC 2 who was crap!
How is the realism??
bennizw
12th September 2012, 19:56
Let's hope they fix it. I have never driven a WRC car myslef before (Sadly), but judging from the experience I have from sitting in the co-drivers seat in a WRC and Group N car, I would say there is still a far way to go to be able to call the game a sim. They handling is more predictable in WRC 3 than 2, and will probably be even better when we can alter car settings. There are more spectators in the stages than the previous games, but I still think the stage build is very unrealistic in comparison to real life stages. Luckily the stages in the demo are much more narrow than in the past games, but there is still a way to go with the topology and resemblance of real stages.

12th September 2012, 23:49
Now I have played the demo a few times, both single stage and road to glory.
The first impressions of the new WRC 3:
The last 2 games in this serie I think is at least CRAP... But this one, I really like! I think as Iv saying before, that Milestone has something really good going on!!
I have very very high hopes for WRC 4!!
This game as of now is a good rally game, I think that this will beat Dirt 3 easy because this is a fine and "real" rally game.*
I play on PC mostly and I think that the graphics in this game is good, almost very good! But I hope that Milestone can do something more with the graphics in the future, because I think the graphics now is a bit to much catroon, is to much colour, its not quite lifelike. But its okey, good!!*
Then on PC I think its going to be much better then on PS3.
The physics are absolutly great if I compare this with Dirt 3, and absolutly great if I compere with WRC and WRC 2. I think this game will beat Dirt 3 in physics! Not near RBR but I think Milestone is on their way to do it in future!
Iv only play this now on my PS3 with a handcontrol but with my G27 and my PC I think it will be much better!*
But they still need to do it better, more lifelike physics.
Tarmac wheels on gravel should be much more slippery!!
One thing in "graphics" I would really would like Milestone to change and throw away is all the tiresmoke on tarmac roads... NOT good! Thats not real at all! End that please!
The dust should be much bigger and hang longer..., Now its to small and not real.
The damage to the car is great if you drive with "heavy" setup.
Now the sound! ;)
It sooo much better then the last 2 games I think.
When the DS3 WRC stand still, the engine sounds superb, really good sound BUT please let the sound be much much loader/higher!! More sound!!! Its to quiet!!!
Then under way when you drive, njeeee the sound is not realistic, its not the sound of an DS3 WRC. But its still good if you compere with WRC and WRC 2.
The Fiesta WRC is the same but the engine wraaall / sound is soo quiet. Thats really boring!
Then the Fiesta WRC has a more powerfull sound and more distinct!
I hope that Milestone can do something about that and fix more audio setup as in RBR, like fore example, Engine sound, incar sfx sound, co-driver sound and outside sfx like birds, people and more so that we can pic our sound setup ourself to get it as real as we want it.
Its little anti-lag sound yet, take that away please and even the backfire flames!
But its a big difference from the last games and thats good!
The tarmac rims on the DS3 looks very good and the DS3 WRC as in graphic made is beautiful! Great job! The Fiesta is good but its more job there I think!
A really great thing was that my car at single stage was stuck at a road bank for 5min... :D I was stuck when I went of the road! Thats nice!! It was on a gravel bank!! ;) thats real!
But the grass should NOT slow the car down only make it much more slippery!!
So the positive:
This is going to be a good game!
They need to work on the details on sound, physics and stage for the real realism! More people/fans, "arrows" in junction and more of the small details!
But over all, this was a good and happy experience!! For me who hated the last 2 games!
This will not beat RBR but they are getting there but Dirt 3 will be beatend when the game is all done I think! Dirt 3 is not a real rally game ofcourse but anyway!
The things I would love Milestone to reflect in for the future or change before realise:*
- in start of the stage, let the player be seated in the car a few seconds before the clock is start to counting down.
- let the graphics looks less cartoon then you will have it all!
- let ther be much higher car sounds insted for high outside sounds like people and more. The real WRC cars sounds very high! ;) or fix better sound setups for us to chose!
- work more on car setups all the time, do not stop with this thing and I hope for the complete game that we can do very much more to the car setup because in the demo we couldent do anything. Let us chose to stiff up and lower the car alot and of corse in the other direction. Because the Fiesta in Spain was like driving a old car with very soft suspension!
- I love that you almost put the anti-lag sound away but its still there - THROW IT AWAY! Its not there anymore in real life!
- Then the dust, tooo little!! Let it be much more and let it hang in there, because in replay it not lifelike, its too small clouds, its not hanging and when the car almost stops, its goes away direct!! The dust stops when the car stops!
- then the cars dont get dirty of the dust??? It dosent take many 100 meters before the car is all dusty in real!
- more camera veiws both when playing and as in replay! The cockpit view should be more near the steeringwheel or with the dashboard!
- the windows should look like windows, get dirty and so on. Now I dont see any window if you understand me.
- when driving with tarmac setup on gravel, it should be very slippery (understeering) and when gravel setup, very oversteering/slippery.
- let us be able to chose to turn music of in replays!
As I say, I will buy this and im sure that I will find this game very funny and nice to play, and you guys at Milestone is going to make really great WRC games in the future if you compete and fight to do it much better all the time. You are not quiet ther yet but you will if you work with ALL the small details to make the realism 150%!
I really didnt think that you would succeed with this but you proved me wrong! Work on all the small things and no one will beat you!
This is going to be fun and Im happy now! :) Thanks!
Sorry for my bad english!

The sound of the DS3 and Fiesta WRC is almost if not exacly the same as in real when the cars stand still, Milestone should get the engine sound a bit higher thou..
Incar under the stages is ok but not as good as I hoped for. Its still a way to go incar when I compered this to real incar movies.
So they have succeed with the sound when the cars stand still but not in speed.

Posted this on Playstation Blog to Milestone Game Director Sebastien Pellicano :
Ciao Sebastien pino here again, just wanted to say that after playing the demo I am quite satisfied. The game has improved a lot in almost everything, my only complain is sound option. Let me explain : Being an old rallyfan and a former codriver I would like to hear engine-sound (and pace-note ofcourse)only when playing, not the outside sound. Everyday I visit 3 differents rallyforum plus the one I moderate myself and believe me, most people would like to have that option. As for the sound itself on the game isn’t as good as Dirt3 but I can live with that. My question is, would that be possible to add the option to switch off outside-sound and keep engine-sound only, before the game will be released ? If not, will you guys considering this in the next WRC4 ?
Thanks for your time

Hi pino,
glad to read you again. Regarding the sound you can manage the pacenote sound, the engine sound and the music changing the level as you prefer. Not the environmental sounds. Hope this is the answer you need.

Get the cars much more dusty on gravel and quicker let the cars get dirty over all.
Let the Dust after the car hang in much longer and get the cloud much much bigger and now the dust stops when the car stops??
Tarmac smoke in turns, NOT REAL.
Let the cars sound much higher! Turn that lowest cars sound level up a great bit!!

4:31.12 - First time I've played the game when not drunk. Would definitely like to be able to change the brake bias, it's way to skittish under braking.
Managed a 4:24.77 with a bit more practice.
Actually quite impressed. The stage seems like a good length and good design (there's some lovely flowing bits through Mussara), the handling is tricky but not so as to frustrate you, the pacenotes seem to be pretty accurate (one of my biggest complaints about DiRT3 is that the pacenotes aren't good enough for you to rely on them, you need to watch the map thing). The engine sounds are bad but not as bad as it first seemed from the videos, you can sort of put up with that because the rest of the game seems quite good.

Just managed to pull a 4:23.69 out the bag.
Did you guys notice that there's an auto-braking thing that's on by default? Really annoys me when games have that, really basic stuff like that should only be in as an option for kids to turn on if they're struggling, not something that's a default setting.

4:31.12 - First time I've played the game when not drunk. Would definitely like to be able to change the brake bias, it's way to skittish under braking.
Managed a 4:24.77 with a bit more practice.

I think that around 4:20 is possible for La Mussara but I really couldn't beat 1:14 on the Road to Glory one. I am struggling with the brakes massively and not got any rhythm. But as you rightly say Jan, the Mussara stage has some great sections, especially on the gravel. Good length too. Looking forward to the full game.
edit: good effort Jan - I'll have another shot later to see if I can get there!

Hi,
First post..
I have been following this great forum for some time now.
I´m really looking forward to WRC3 and this seems to be the place to get the knews about the game. ( Thanks lcd :) )
I have tried the demo a few times and I must say I'm impressed.
Everything seems to be improved, really enjoying it.
My only complain so far is that you cant adjust the engine sound without altering the road/gravel sound.
Can't be that hard to implement that into the game.
Gonna play some more later, Iwilll post my times then.

Tjena Jojje och välkommen!! ;)
Pino: yes I agree with you, my "questions" can absolutly be tips but some of the question/tips can they, if they want change before realise... But even if they want and its not impossible to do it they have the "tips" for the future...
I want to have a chans to comunicate with them and that was my chans...
Milestone is not so great at that, to have a forum or something there the players/fans can speak with them and talk about wishes for future games or changes in games.
Many of us have great ideas how to make the game even better with small changes and its frustrating that not have a way to discuss with them. Codemasters, EA and many more have active forums for comunications with fans but not Milestone!
They say that they use rallypros like JM, Petter and many more to create a lifelike rallygame?
Then it's very strange when so much details is left out of the game. JM, Petter and the rest only test these games on a real WRC event for a short time and they have not the time or intrest to get in the depht to these things when they are going to compete...
There is why Milestone should be glad to have fans who even is in the sport on every level to give them advice to make a game that will get them to the top insted to close out fans or only let the fans ask questions when the game is already done!
Wrc 3 is going to be good and fun as I have been saying like you guys but they need to start listnen to fans all over the world and pick up something here and there...
RBR is so great just because they really used Richard Burns to 100% and was willing to create a REAL rally game/sim for real rallyfans in that time.
The time is changed but not the fans and the sport is still the same...
I hope but I doubt that Milestone will change in that point.
They want to creat games for people who like to play random games and some rallyfans mabye, but they are not willing to make a true and simlike rallygame because if that was the case, they already had succeed. I think its all about the $$$$$
Look at F1 for example... If you dont like and love that sport, then you hate the game - its all about just F1. Thats the same with RBR, its all about true rally!
I hope you guys understand what I trying to say here! Sorry for bad written english, cant sometimes explane what I want to say.
I like the time competing and I love to join tomorrow! See what times I will do with a stupid handcontrol.... :p ;)

Yeah but both them ignore what the fans are saying and delete any comments that are negative.
I hope but I doubt that Milestone will change in that point.

Of course they are, Milestone is a business, they are supposed to make money. It's naive to think that they'd be doing it for any other reason.
Astro83
18th September 2012, 10:04
Jan: They can not listnen to everyone of course and they can not do everyone happy - that I understand, but Milestone dont even try to listnen to their fans, its that who is sad...
And of course its all about money but you not understand, and that is my bad english.. You can choose to make a game who is about a sport, like rally - then you choose if that game is going to be as real as possible and have a great realism and then its called a sim - if you do that you may looses some money because the random gamers who not really is loving the sport rather choose to buy Dirt or some ****ty car game...
But Milestone seems to do the other way, they whant to be like codemasters, do a game for everyone like that ****ty Dirt series..
Rally is rally!!! Like F1 is F1....
Every real rally fan have since RBR got old around 2007-2008 seeking and really want a true rally game with todays tec, graphics and more!
But it seems that we never is going to get that where all the small detalis is taking care of and a game with true realism all the way and with realistic SOUND both in and outside the car.
I think wrc 4 will be better then wrc 3 of course and if so, the 4th game will be nice, its not going to be perfect because Milestone like arcade games more then true sim and dont care about small but importent details in this series.
Its not ALL about $$$$, its milions of real rallyfans out there, that should be enuff, if you are seriosly with thw WRC-license...

Played the demo a few times now and ive got to say im enjoying it.
The graphics, lighting and enviroments are a huge improvement and actually feel natural. Not like in WRC 2 where countries like Finland and Spain are so dull.
The sound still isnt right though. The co-driver is an improvement, but still makes stupid comments and misses the pace notes for th next couple corners. Car wise Its better but the cars dont sound natural and having been to the Acorpolis and Rally GB this year can deffinetely say they dont pop and bang anything like in the game.
Handling is better, though I do find it odd that the car slides more on tarmac than it does on gravel. I will reserve further judgment until I get the game and can make some setup changes.

Loving the Mexico stage he has released together with one stage from all rallies! Narrow and very interesting, definitly the best I have seen so far. Sadly I hear the car sound hasn't been improved. I am sorry, but the Fiesta does NOT sound like that. Considering the fact that Milestone have said they have "recorded" car sounds properly this time, I am disappointed that they haven't made more of it. I am positive the car sound of the Fiesta isn't a record - maybe only when the car is at a standstill.

Is that really a deal breaker for you? Going from the demo they seem to have a game with good stage design and good handling, yet you won't get it because of something as petty as the spoiler? Just drive with the in car camera and your problems is solved.
p.s It's far from embarrassing.

I'v seen all the videos now and I would like to say this...
Milestone should have a 1th price for this game - It looks really really good as for graphics!! It's a really big step up! They HAVE listnen to some of the fans and it seems that they have read a lot in forums like this for example.
One thing is the "start clock". I write a very early message on TeamVVV :s youtube site about this when the wrc 3 videos had the "old" start clock. I wrote that Milestone shold us a real lifelike on and it should countdown from 10. It took a few weeks or one or two month, then had Milestone change this little thing! :) :) It seems like they had read that and took the message with them! ;)
That's great Milestone! Lovely! Like it should be!! Thanks!
The physics looks to be good, not perfect but really ok! And that's ok for me because I see that Milestone is working there way up on all things for the future!!
Is there someone in here who knows if Milestone really is looking in this forum and read the things we talk about??
If it's like that then we should start a WRC 4 "forum" later this year to discuss the things we would like to be done in that game and more? Are you agree? :)
I cant wait for this game now, the car sound is the only thing i'm a little sad about but I hope it will be better in the upcomming games!
Thanks to TeamVVV and the guy in the videos, you're great!

Lcd: Thanks for the answear! Are you one of them?! ;)
That's good to hear, then we know that they see what we "want" to see in the game in future, like in WRC 4.
It's good to have a "channel" to communicate in...
Allyc:
I understand what you say and I think the same, it's sad that Finland not have the hills and jumps as in real life BUT im not angry about it because someone sad - I think that I'v heard that from a reporter who had talk with Milestone, that this year they had created "some new" rallys like NZ and Mexico BUT that they for next year is plannibg to remodell all of the rallys completly with satelite fotos and more to do the stages really real! I hope that I'v heard right! :) Milestone has done the wrc 3 game really good and stept up really well but I agree that this game is "far" from perfect! Still this game is going to be really good, the best rallygame in years I think!
But for WRC 4 they need to step up even further and I hope and think that they know it and feel the same!
For example they need to rewrite rally sweden, rally finland, and the others, create a real car sound, but all the small details in real rally stages together in the game and develop more sound setups and all of the setups, keep on going to create even better physics and all of this to step away from codemasters and other developers... This is going to be a REAL rallygame/games. DIRT series is not....

Mental lap! How on earth does he have such stability at pace on the tarmac. If I so much as touch the steering while flat out on the tarmac it just starts pendulum-ing and I spin. On the gravel section I counted I was between 3s-4s off which means I'm about 17s off on the tarmac! Crazy.

Yeah I can't understand why he's so stable on the tarmac. Also he seems to cut corners on the grass, if I do that the wheels spin and the car slows down dramatically.

Maybe there's a way to decrease the sensitivity the analogue stick? Would certainly help me. Same problem as you Jan for the cutting - touch the grass and that's a second lost!

Have to say, tried WRC 2 again today, and yes, WRC 3 is a good step up. Much better graphics, more reliable physics and improved sounds. Looking forward to getting hold of the full version!

Bennizw: I agree, WRC and WRC 2 sucks BIG TIME!
WRC 3 is a very big step up and I'm very happy for Milestone and the guys behaind this. I'm very much looking forward to 12th Oktober! :p

I have now look at all the videos from Alan - TeamVVV, and I must say that the new rallys Milestone have created for WRC 3 like Mexico, Monte carlo, NZ and maby some more rally looks absolutly beatiful!! Very very good looking nature and stages!! Really good!!! I cant really say that too much! So I really wait for WRC 4, when Milestone (I hope) have created "new" rallys for every country in the WRC. Really hope they do! Because one thing is sure, when they put their mind to it, then they can create some really good rally stages!! :)
One small thing I wanted they to do in this game was much much more spectators and marshalls all over the stages. Now in the videos I'v seen, it feels like a test stage.. Not a wrc stage sadly.
But this game will be cool but they have to put all the small details together in WRC 4 and absolutly create new graphics/stages for the other countrys! Lovely!! ;)

Very much agreed! But, bigger crowds and many marshalls on the stages, unfortunately dramatically affect game's performance.
Don't forget that we want the crowd alive, with somekind of movement, not just 2D graphics, like In older rally games.
If Milestone can solve this tech problem In WRC4, you can be sure, they will add lots of people around all haipins waithing for the car to come.

Is that really a deal breaker for you? Going from the demo they seem to have a game with good stage design and good handling, yet you won't get it because of something as petty as the spoiler? Just drive with the in car camera and your problems is solved.
p.s It's far from embarrassing.
No it's not a deal breaker, you just expect a company with the license to produce the official WRC game to be able to model accurate looking WRC cars.
I once again won't be wasting my money on this game. Crap car sounds, crap stages which have little or no resemblance to the actual countries they represent, and just a crap game in general.
P.S I won't bother you lot on this thread after this post, so have fun with your arcade racer.

306 cosworth: :) you can't say that wrc 3 is going to be a ****ty rallygame/sim and that the new built rallys in this game is badly done from Milestone, that the stages in for example Mexico, NZ and Spain not look like that at all in real life!?
Then I wounder if you have seen a WRC event in real life???
Mexico and spain and nz is great! Milestone can absolutly do even more for the realism but it kills games like that rent a rally game - Dirt.
Wrc 3 will be great but wrc 4 must in future be much better to retire RBR for example...
I love rbr but it's ONLY for the sound, physics and the small details in that game who make me feel the true sport as if I was compete as I do in real life. Rbr do not have good graphics any more, it sucks.
Rbr is not perfect either...
Wrc 3 will place it self on a second place behaind rbr but i personally think that wrc 4 will take over the first place from rbr. I hope and it seems like Milestone is aiming for that when I look at this big step up!
It's so many "rallyfans" who only play Dirt and more of them ****ty games and loves Ken Block and his stunts and think - thats rally..
Noo no no no!! It's not!
But I understand that you are angry about sound and some more that Milestone not sadly have bern taking care of but it's a really BIG step up and we can't no longer compere this with the last two - not so good games! ;)

Thank you lcd for the latest updates! Very kind! Hehe
The Tv-camera angle looks good I think! Like rbr or some other rally game, looks good!
I think that we can take nice shots from the stages in that replay angle!

Bennizw: Yrs the sound is aweful! It sounds terrible sadly! Like CMR from PS2 the first game.
Milestone can not be happy with this sound result?!? :) They can't be...
One thing I really want to get an answear on from someone who knows is...
The sound is recorded with hightec mic from both inside and outside all the cars, can someone explane to me how the sound can be like this then????
If they recorded with the mic :s like they sad, then they game sound would be realistic like if it was real, right!?! :) I can not understand this???
Or is Milestone pulling our leg untill the realise?!
Because this sound IS NOT recorded from real wrc fiestas and so on... It's almost funny!
bennizw
25th September 2012, 16:03
God knows what they have done. It is at least not authentic sound recorded from the cars themselves - just compare it to the car sounds of DIRT 3 which frankly are the best sounds that have ever been in a rally game. Shame on them if they are happy with those sounds.....
GigiGalliNo1
25th September 2012, 16:44
Maybe they recorded sounds close to the exhaust where it might distort the recording and not away further as a spectator would here on the stage... Or a small distant away From the car in action...
Astro83
25th September 2012, 17:55
Gigigalli: No they have not! :) because even if it was the case, hhe sound would be much more lifelike then this. This is not sound at all like a real rallycar of any sort.
Lcd maby has an answear? ;)

Well that turned out pretty bad after the recording. It's hard to describe that extra tone they set on the engine - some kind of futuristic whistle. Maybe they f***ed up their recordings? ;)

Exactly! Something hapenned on the way from the recordings to the game...I would blame the game's engine.

26th September 2012, 09:22
I know that they recorded the sound for wrc 2 but I wounder if it's only a lie because of the extremly bad result! Because if they record the sound like that, wouldent the sound of the cars be extremly realistic and lifelike then?!?!? :o haha
Lcd: you talk about their "game engine". Can you explane to me how the game engine can have a influence on the car sound please?? I'm intrested to understand this because of beeing angry! ;) :)

I am not a developer, but a game's engine Is responsible for almost everything In a game:
performance, graphics, sounds, crowds, particles, lightings, weather e.t.c.
DiRT3 Is a result of the Codemasters’ award-winning EGO Engine Improved version ;)

Nice review :)
From playing the demo I can't say I agree on the lack of speed, seems ok to me.
Interesting to read their positive comments about the sound.
Really want this game now.. :)
