The countdown for the 2012 Jänner Rallye just begun
With Rallye Club Mühlviertel being the host of the 29th Jänner-Rallye, the team has been working hard for the upcoming event. It is part of the Austrian and Czech National Championship but also a European Championship race. There are seven weeks to go for the team to get it all set up for this event.
Ferdinand Staber, the head of organization, is optimistic despite the amount of tasks to fulfill: “We have started early enough to be prepared for all the details when it comes to planning such an event. Therefore we were able to start working as early as possible. Quite a lot of members of RC Mühlviertel were introduced to the concept of organization. Concerning the starter field of the race we can say that there are many interesting requests and teams can submit their request until 11th November.”
The current focus is on two topics. A lot of hotel reservations have been made recently and people are already having a hard time finding available accommodation. On the other hand there is plenty of good feedback from fans about the “Rallyepass”. For only 25 Euro buyers have free access to all the areas of the event and you take part in the lottery with really attractive prizes. To order your personal “Rallypass” simply go to the website 29. Internationale Jännerrallye, 5. - 7. Jänner 2012 Region Mühlviertel -*Home (http://www.jaennerrallye.at).
As mentioned earlier the 29th Jänner-Rallye is also the first of eight runs in Austrian National Championship as well as the starting signal for the Czech Rally Championship.
More information about the upcoming January-Rallye 2012 including a substantial Rallye-Guide can be found on the website 29. Internationale Jännerrallye, 5. - 7. Jänner 2012 Region Mühlviertel -*Home (http://www.jaennerrallye.at).

I don´t understand, why there are two big events in Bulgaria- Rally Bulgaria in June in ERC and rally Sliven in September in IRC. (and they are nearly the same, same surface) Why they didn´t merge it somehow? This is bad for all.
Mirek
25th November 2011, 10:36
Why not? They have different organizers who can make agreement with any championship they want (ERC and IRC have different promoter and organizer). That's common thing to have different events for big championships in one country (Acores/Portugal, Canarias/Catalunya, Alsace/Corse/Monte Carlo).

If I correctly understand the news on Luca Betti's website, he will compete in Janner Rally with Pug 207 S2000 from Racing Lions and then he will drive all the remaing rounds of the ERC - Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, Belgium, Turkey, Portugal, Czech Republic, Spain, Poland, France and Switzerland. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Btw is it because of his sponsors that he still choose for ERC, because I think the guy likes new challenges and IRC should be a great new challenge!
But must say a decent IRC program will be probably much more expensive than a ERC program..

But I don't think Juho is doing the full championship?
I agree with mousti that it would have been nicer to see him in IRC.. can't see the events being much more expensive but maybe harder to get a top spec car to compete with the works boys... next year when the merger comes?
At least we should see him on the IRC/ERC clashes Ypres and Barum, and hopefully a special appearance on Sanremo if we are lucky.

Luca Rossetti in the Turkish Rally Championship with the Skoda Fabia S2000
Luca Rossetti and United Business, the company that takes care of his sporting management, have signed an agreement with Pegasus Racing, with the cooperation of Skoda Turkey Yuce Auto, to take part in the 2012 Turkish Rally Championship. The series consists of six events plus the Bosphorus Rally, also valid for the European Rally Championship.
Luca Rossetti said: I am really happy to take part in this championship, for me it is the beginning of a new challenge. It will all be new for me, except for my friends of Pegasus Racing who will support this participation and with whom I already won the Bosphorus Rally in 2010 and Bulgaria Rally in 2011. As an Italian driver, I am proud to represent Skoda Turkey Yuce Auto in an official programme.
Cem Acar, Team Manager of Pegasus Racing, said: We as Pegasus Racing, and as friends of Luca Rossetti, will extremely appreciate to see Luca in the Turkish Rally Championship. Pegasus Racing is strongly confident that Turkish rally spectators will also be stubbornly waiting for his presence on our battle fields. Our current supporter companies TCHEALTH and Mobiltrust are welcoming and leading this great driver's presence in our championship.
The first event for Luca Rossetti and Matteo Chiarcossi in the Turkish Rally Championship will be the Ege Rally, a tarmac event based in Izmir, with 138 km of special stages, on April 7th 8th.

Nice, good for Juho. But in any case he will not be a serious contender towards Andreucci. Just look for the last ten years: there were already big names present on Mille Miglia, but no way they could resist top-Italian specialist. And Ucci, with 2012 spec, Pirelli's 'designed'' for his wishes, his knowledge over almost every meter of the stages...this is a lost game for Juho.

No, next week they will decide, but at 99% they will start from Croatia.
According to the interview with Pier Liberali from Lotus Rally Team it will be a miracle if the new Exige will appear on the Croatia rally. Lotus has some difficulties with FIA over homologation and if they will not solve this problems in the coming days they will be forced to cancel the start in Croatia. Hopefully they will manage to solve those problems.....

Lotus is speaking yust for smaller technichal details which must comply with FIA regulations. But unfortunately this is only the official version, none of us knows what is the background of this troubles.....
Don't they need the support of the manufacturer for a homologation?.. and the manufacturer has just changed hands.

They are manufacturer themselves. There is no issue in that. They even plan to produce the car among others on same production line as it is not so different from stock cars.

The most attractive place on stage Učka (for me ) is village Vela Učka about 3 km from the start of stage. (near entry in tunnel Učka from the istrian side.) The road will be closed 1 hours before start of stage (17:50 ).
To find the end of stage we must pass tunnel Učka (if will come from istrian side )in direction Rijeka , and look for the signalation for Veprinac ( cca 5 km from the tunnel exit in direction Rijeka ).

I will share my experience from yesterday-I managed to see three stages out of four. First thing-app.half an hour before start of Učka 1 started to rain, but the tarmac was completly dry until firs cars started. Due to this rain all drivers installed intermedia (Solowow apparently even wets) on front and this was huge mistake. At the end of the stage they were slow, understeering all time, disaster.....Second loop was much better, speeds were higher and also they improved stage times (despite the fact they drove in the night).
Šebalj in Gr.N4 can't match best drivers in S2000. From the eyes of spectator the most agressive style showed Betti.

2. Hermann Gassner Jr/Klaus Wicha (D) Skoda Fabia S2000 +17,1
3. Luca Betti/Maurizio Barone (I) Peugeot 207 S2000 +1.21,8
4. Michał Sołowow/Maciek Baran (PL) Peugeot 207 S2000 +3.37,8
5. Tlusťák/Škaloud (CZ) Skoda Fabia S2000 +3.47,9
6. Rok Turk/Enej Ložnar Kranjc (SLO) Peugeot 207 S2000 +3.48,8
More action tomorrow at 12:08! :)

100% agree!! If you yust look two weeks ago (Tour de Corse), joung Gassner was totally lost against top competitors. And now he miraculously found some extra seconds/per km....even my grandmum would not fall for this story....But if RedBull will bite the bait, that's good for young German driver....Otherwise there are still some evos 9&X waiting for him in his father's garage.
I'm yust not happy to see our driver Rok Turk to be the last among S2000 drivers. I did not expect him to be slower than let say Solowow and Tlustak. But anyway, it is still a miracle in our economic situation that he managed to provide enough financal sources to pay for the car and other expenses in EU championship. I hear that Solowow does not have such concerns.....

Yes, indeed. It really looks similar. But they had more luck than the Polish driver.
In the menatime I read Luca Betti trying to explain his illegal recce before Rally Bulgaria. He says, that he was driving a rented car on a highway and missed the right exit. When he took the next exit, all of a sudden he realised, that he was on a special stage! Can you believe it? ;)
For the ones who speak Italian:
Luca Betti non prende il via in Bulgaria. L'italiano fermato da un'inevitabile decisione.*-*Luca Betti Official Website (http://www.lucabetti.com/ultime/luca-betti-non-prende-il-via-in-bulgaria.-litaliano-fermato-da-uninevitabile-decisione.html)
For the one who like Google Translator :)
"Just arrived to Sofia by plane - said a disconsolate Luca Betti - and collected the rental car, we took the highway to the area of race and when we arrived, we realized that we had missed the correct exit. Taking the next, not to lose, we activated the GPS and we followed him. Shortly after we realized that we were passing one of the trials program but not now missed out on that back. Me and Maurizio, given the banality of what, for the whole week there are absolutely not worried and we have performed the regular surveys but today we were called. Our "transition" has been recognized accidentally and inevitably the College of Commissioners has had to consider. While listening to our testimony and understanding the good faith of the incident, as there is a report, the College of Commissioners have applied the rule that provides for the exclusion from the race if a team is recognized on a test pass, day and time is not authorized . The same school was absolutely helpless and sorry and has recognized our good faith (even in writing) but could not refrain from an inevitable decision. I am appalled, I find it incredible that it should be punished so severely that it was just a distraction, but I can not help but accept this decision with great regret, I had not ever run into a similar story. "

I have nothing against Hanninen or Škoda, but this time I hope for a Peugeot victory, so Magalhaes I'm counting on you....Sousa with Lotus has not even the slightest chance against top or even average drivers in S2000 machinery. If he will be in front of local Mitsubishi evo drivers, he can be more than happy....

To go to Madeira from Europe is really very expensive (at least 1,5 x more than usual) event and it takes a lot of time for the team. For example, our mechanics lost three weeks of their life with Madeira last year (travelling to port, ferry, whole rally, ferry back, travelling home).

With all due respect, those figures are long gone and I dont know if they ever made sense.
Cars have departed from Lisboa as we speak, and they will arrive monday. The rally is next week so by the time the rally ends cars will be soon sent back so that doesn't even make it two week on the Island. If it takes one week to travel a truck from Czech to Portugal, something is not working very efficiently.
