Reuche solidly leading, whereas Althaus and Gonon fight for 2nd position ;)
Carron has lost too much(more than 4' gap)though... :(
Tsjoen could pass 4th overall after SS13 ;)

Looking at the startlist and spread of nationalities ERC is in big need of a makeover!

It is last event and since everything was pretty much decided most of the regulars just skipped the round...

True Mirek, but looking at the standings it does not tell us about a blossoming championship in Europe, that should be the natural springboard for talent before moving to The World Championship.

You are right but that's nothing new. The ERC has been virtually dead for many years... Anyway in next years it's going to be completely different :)

I dont know if there was in the history of rallysport any championship which was "natural springboard for talent before WRC". It was only two or three years of JWRC, nothing more. Rally is different sport than others and there are is not so many step-by-step drivers, everybody is thinking only about going directly to WRC. I hope that this will change with new ERC...

Back to Rallye du Valais. Laurent Reuche damaged right rear wheel in SS 10 on circuit stage in Casernes (I think two laps before finish). He arrived to regrouping on felly on that wheel, without tyre and rim and he changed the wheel in parc ferme during regrouping...

Today it was really difficult. Raining since early morning, in highest passages started to snow. Drivers were using mixture of media tyres, rain tyres and snow tyres. Only Tsjoen had full snow tyres (not usual D10), which really helped him, especially on SS 12. He continued on winter tyres, but other stages were in lower attitude so more wet and gravel than snow. SS 16 (again on ski alpine track in Verbier) was canceled (like SS 12 for second half of the field) because lot of snow - cars were not able to go through (especially 2WD). Now in the evening is situation much more colder, snowing also in Martigny, tomorrow expected weather below zero also during day. Big step from +28 on Thursday and +3 today...

They should be happy, that rally finished on Saturday. Because on Sunday there was big snow calamity in Valais region, also highways down in the valley had problems with passability...

Why only 7 drivers got points in the final standings of ERC? Was there a rule that said that drivers should drive at least 4 events?
