When is the shakedown? That would give some first indication of the speed of the Lotus.

Francis44
27th July 2012, 11:57
Hanninen fastest on shakedown with 1:54:9. Magalhães second with 1:55:00.

For some reason Lotus missed the shakedown.

Francis44
27th July 2012, 12:30
Bruno Magalhães is now the fastest on the shakedown, beating Hanninen by 0.2 seconds.

Still nothing about the Lotus.

Here are the live SD-times: RALI VINHO MADEIRA - Resultados processados por am@web (http://www.amaweb.pt/2012/ralivm/)

Maybe Lotus was too late to register for SD? Or just doesn't want to participate, as they've tested enough in the last few days?

After first day of Madeira Rally I must say that I'm very positively surprised over Vitor Sa's result. He is yust 10 second behind B.Magalhaes and even more - Hanninen is not able to reduce the gap, which Juho gained with flat tyre. I know he is a local driver, drives this roads for x-attempts (also a 2004 winner), but we have to be fair and say, that his racing mileage is yust a drop in the ocean versus Juho's (every year) mileage and also a privat 207 is a ''wheelbarrow'' compare to factory Fabia.
Secondly-locals with R4 evos are without the slightest chance against S2000 drivers.
Roll on the second day.......

He must not forget some of the rally's run on the Island use the same stages as in this rally. Vitor Sá is doing good ofcourse, but few know those roads better than him.

For me the surprise is Bruno Magalhães. Even with all that time stopped he still leads, plus even without puncture Hanninen would be chasing him.

They said already long time a go they would be between S2000 and R3 cars and that's exactly where they were in those few stages. None of us can expect the Lotus to be fighting with properly driven S2000. There's no chance for that. But on the other hand they were clearly fastest among 2WD and if I'm not mistaken the car is eligible for IRC 2WD cup.

I think that it was not mentioned here but Juho Hänninen is already European Champion. His presence in this season showed clearly the level the championship has.

Juho said on MTV3’s web site (2.9.2012) that probably they wouldn’t drive any ERC rallies anymore. The programme for the rest of the season is still open. He mentioned that the bosses have a meeting next week and after that he’ll know more.

Google Translate (http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=fi&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mtv3.fi%2Furheilu%2Fralli%2Fuut iset.shtml%2F2012%2F09%2F1608746%2Fsuomalaiskuski-rallin-em-kultaan-44-vuoden-tauon-jalkeen)

Here in Finland the ERC haven’t had much publicity even in motorsport magazine “Vauhdin Maailma”. I believe the ERC had more importance before the drivers WRC or maybe already before the manufacturers WRC. I didn’t follow rallying so closely in the 70’s and the first years of the 80’s so I’m not sure about the publicity in the 70’s.

WRC has so far been concentrated in Europe, which decreased the importance & publicity of ERC.

Al-Kuwari will also do the rally.

Also Kruuda, from foreigners also Tlustak, Cerny...
so it should be one of the best entry lists for this rally in recent years, with around 10 S2000 cars and few very fast R4 ones...

Asturias must have the worst ERC-entry list ever. 2 S2000, 2 S1600, one R3T and 13 other FWD cars... The good thing is that it can only get better from now on...

The whole of rallying is suffering. This weekend, Asturias ERC poor, IRC Yalta Poor, WRC Wales poor...

I hope the ERC/IRC merger goes ahead and they cut the calendar down.

Nice translation by Google.

“Bryan Bouffier and Xavier Panseri Peugeot 208 will go as kindergarten R2 Rally Polish.”

Rajd Polski must be one of the eldest rally still in ERC. I have a book from 1967 and there the first results are from 1960.

Yes, it was on tarmac also juwra.com**|**Rallies - Poland (http://www.juwra.com/poland.html)

By the books I have which mention “Rajd Polski” the route was about 3000 km ( in the mid 60’s). The other book says 24 SS and the other 150 km of SS.

The book saying 150km of SS was originally written by Stuart Turner.

I can assure you, the location matters a lot. Here in Bulgaria we used to have our so called Rally Bulgaria (Zlatni/Albena used to be called before) and it was in completely different part of the country with stages not alike at all. But not everything comes to the stage characteristics, Rally HQ makes big difference also.

Think the same, ideal stages for a RRC car and never understimate Tsjoen. Will be interesting what's his evaluation will be for his next program in 2013

Tsjoen directly with a good start 6.3 seconds faster than the unknown Carron? Tlustak not bad either.

Mirek

According to Pluto it's unusually hot there and Tsjoen was possibly only one on hard tyres.

Good start on SS1, but end of the rally after SS2? Tsjoen loses almost five minutes. Anybody knows what happened?

Did Betti appear on the start line?

mousti
25th October 2012, 15:41
I think puncture or technical problem, and Betti not started.

Antonin Tlustak has technical problems since first stage of second leg. We were trying to find the problem in middle service, changed gearbox and other parts, but problems are still there. It looks like it will be something with electrics, so we will see in night long service.

Yes, Pluto wrote to me that it's now rain in lower parts of stages, snow, mud and fog in the upper. Moreover many parts of todays stages are on gravel surface! Drivers use various combination of D10 and wet tyres.

SS13 started, Tlusťák puncture already close after start according to sms from PLuto.

He told that Tsjoen probably used different winter tyres than D10 Michelin, didn't know which ones.
