I so nearly bought WRC 2010 today for the xbox but just about resisted. Looks like it might be better to get it for the PC with the mods that are coming out!

I got the game on PS3 for my birthday yesterday - first impressions say it is fun but not that realistic. Track is too wide and corners not sharp enough. Overall though it seems enjoyable at least.

Cool,PS29 . If you play at online,also you can maybe add your PSN for the list what is at somewhere here at the forums. Also I´m glad that you like for the game and yeah its all correct what you said. Still when you start to find more speed, you find out that the tracks ain´t that wide anymore :P

As a tip,if you have more time.. Just focus for the career mode. Its pretty fun even when it is just mainly a lot of driving and those FWD cars may drive you crazy at some point. Also online is great fun and there are always a lot of racers there... atleast until when GT5 is released. Example soooo many at online who I´ve been talking with are saying to swap WRC to GT5.

I would say that the only big minus with this game comes from the fact that sometimes you get an impression that Milestone has been a bit lazy while making the game. Also as even here has been said for the ones who play with wheels... the game is very disappointing. The wheel settings are pain to get right and example the automatic counter steering at logitech wheels,drive you nuts.

I will play online in the summer but at the moment I am at University and only back home for the weekend so wont play much until Christmas.
I have just started my career with a 7th placed time in the opening test - only 2s off a win and I lost 5s with a spin in the stadium so it looks encouraging!

not sure yet but i will build dutch liveries as soon dirt 3 is out with their ford focus :D

Hey, after Installing the patch for pc, noticed a couple of crucial changes!
Didn't expect such great Improvements:

1. Cars physics are tweaked to a more sim direction-now cars are more sesitive under careless handling.
2. Damage system finally Improved- no more crashing with 100km/h and get away with It!
The Impact on car's performance Is very heavy (and much more visual too)
3. The particles system has been Improved too-Now dust Is smoother and more visible,
when coming out of the front wheels!


Looking forward to a future update with a couple more things, pointed out by the community!

At last I have been able to try the game. To sum it up in one word, I´d say: Simple. It just doesn´t seem like Milestone have put a proper effort into it, therefore I most likely won´t be playing it much.

So I picked the game up the other day (even though GT5 is only 8 days away) because Im a big fan of the WRC and figured my contribution would help with developing the sequal.

Anyway, if I had no pre-conceived expectations I would have been pretty disappointed, but given the criticism the game has received I was actually pleasantly surprised.

For one the visuals aren't nearly as bad as some reviews would suggest. I guess it depends on what you look for in a racing game, but I think the cars look good which is all I'm really worried about. Also, I think the representation of dust is important, something that Colin Mcrae games never nailed but RBR did, and WRC does a really good job. Other than that, the backgrounds and menus are pretty bland but they don't really detract from the driving experience.

I found the handling quite good, more realistic than any CM game but not as good as RBR (I doubt anything ever will be). One thing they have done well is model the weight and inertia of the car, meaning you have to be pretty delicate in order to hold an accurate line, unlike the Dirt games where you can just throw the car in at any old angle and adjust whenever you please.

The only real disappointment is the stages. A few of them are quite good but overall they are far too wide and open. What the navigator refers to as a hairpin is more like a flat out 2nd gear corner and I find myself spending most of the time in 4th or 5th gear. Hopefully this is something they work on for the next iteration.

I will probably trade the game in when I pick up Gran Turismo but I feel reassured that Milestone can turn this into a descent game with a bit more work and some descent funding.

Just a little bit!

The graphics are PS2 like.
The handling is slow and dosnt really do what you want.
The menu controls are slow to respond as well.
Sound is rubbish and nothing like a real rally car, have they not watched any WRC?
Stages are too wide, samey and with no proper hairpins.
The snow banks are solid in sweden with no give and it sounds like a door shutting when you hit them.

I will give it a couple days but my copy will be on ebay soon me thinks!

Still, there Is no comparison between GT5 and WRC.
2 totally different products regarding content or philosophy.
GT5 reminds me a little of DiRT2: just a little rally among various
forms of motorsports. Not for me at all. ;)

At least the graphics are good in GT5, and the handlng miles better than in WRC 2010. Sounds vary, the SX4 sounds good, while the Focus doesn´t. All of them are better than the sounds in WRC 2010 anyway.
