left number must be the alternator voltage as vary from 12,3 to 14.Right number must be the engine coolant temp.

I think that main reason why Škoda has a bit less travel is in the fact it was born mainly for asphalt. It still has more travel than it's main opponent Peugeot and usually it was faster than Peugeot on gravel. Can't be said about Ford though. I don't know any exact values, sorry, but from what I saw the travel of Polo seems quite big to me. I think that the difference in the jump above is mainly in Ogier's more flamboyant driving. When I was in NORF in 2011 Ogier and Loeb were driving both DS3 but completely different style. Loeb was very precise, straight as much as possible. Ogier was driving similar to Latvala, very wide and crazy everywhere.

We were at the service park and were quite amazed that Mads had only Pirellis.

Today Kris Meeke has tested Citroen DS3 WRC (PH Sport) on gravel in Italy (10 km from where I live but I was able to watch only the final part of the test... damn!). He was bloody fast!!!

Indeed sounds quite differently. Could it be engine upgrade :confused: I also very like the look this car is beginning to shape. It looked beautifully before, now looks great and more aggressive with the new aerodynamic elements.

watch again the video carefully.I think that it is a bit fast forward...the way the dust moves after the car passes,the way the grass moving after polo pass,the people how fast they turn their body to watch the car after pass from them.

Can't find anything wrong with video speed. Perhaps this is illusion from the turbulence :D Wouldn't it sound little strange if it was bit fast forward?

sound is more difficult to understand than vision.Out of hairpins/tight corners is extreme fast even without antilag...

That video is sped up. No doubt. The most obvious thing is how the camera pans while handheld, handheld footage just doesn't shake or judder that rapidly because people's bodies/hands can't move that way!

It's the chirping sound you're hearing under braking when the turbo is pushing air into the inlet manifold and the dump valve opens, it's not mapped aggressive to get the banging sound like in the first video's. I guess that was a bit overkill and not very healthy for the turbo and even those racing catalytic converters can melt I've heard.

yes i know that nowadays is not so loud,but i am sure that it is not activated at videos at least.
at previous post there is a video,you can listen antilag from polo which is enough loud to hear.

of course it can chirp with antilag activated.Antilag even on lower boost settings can hear it.That you have 0,7 bar pressure,than 1,5 bar will not make it quiet.Μikkelsen no need? Even tourists with N4 cars are faster with antilag.

Yes, as you can see the in-car shot is with gravel setup. Probably better to start in 2nd gear as there's not enough traction to put it all on the asphalt in first gear.

Clearly working out the strategy for the Spanish Day 1 mixed surfaces. There is a significant amount of asphalt in between the gravel sections

As "reward" for his efforts, Citroen is going to make Loeb work until the end of the season doing some... test on gravel!
He doesn't understand it. IMO in the future he'll need to switch off his mobile permanently. If doesn't, this won't be his last test on gravel...

and to providing some sort of 'discount' given the shoddy car supply on a couple of events. The Championship was his to lose, and engine issues (regardless of whose fault) once he changed teams saw to that.

I wouldn't be so harsh. Baumschlager always prepared very good car with no mechanical-caused retirements through all his Škoda operations (since 2009) up to these engines problems in second half of this year. Those are however Oreca related and all Škoda teams suffered from them (including works one or VW Motorsport).

I see now that he did 300 kms. I supposed that the announced gravel tests of Citroen were going to take place in France. Besides Sordo drove a DS3 yesterday on the test track of Citroen Racing.

Was awesome to drive the WRC car today. The engine torque from the turbo is unreal and is an easy car to drive. Wish I could tell more, but we will see what happens over the coming weeks. Hungry for more now!

Hayden Paddon shares the same manager as Seb Ogier, and is also sponsored by the Giltrap Group who are VW Group importer in NZ, also he has been a Skoda driver this year, I am just wondering if he has tested the Polo.
However, I suspect it was a Fiesta at Greystoke, as I am sure MSport are running test sessions for prospective customers.

Busy end of year for Loeb. He is testing again the DS3 on gravel in Almodovar, Portugal. The VW's drivers are going to be even busier than him because they are going to test in the South of France and then near Karlstadt before the end of the year.

Not near Karlstad i think, not much snow even when the rally is on there. Sure it's not up in Kall?

The source says that VW at the end of the year "will go to Karsltad". I don't know the precision of that information, though in the same article was revealed that Citroen is testing in Portugal.
I suppose testing at the same latitude of Kongsvinger, as VW did this year, should be more suitable.

Just to test the car... It was the day after Rallye du Var, in that region (also the region where Delecour lives). I know Francois was quite sceptical about the performance of Mini's (telling that he thought the good results of Mini came from Sordo his amazing driving that compensates the car's lack of speed), maybe this will change his mind...? If it would be sure he drives Monte with the Mini of FJ, it would have been published somewhere, French media would notice it for sure. :)

dimvii, what do you think for the blow-off valve? Doesn't it look a bit too aggressive? Is this a try to help the anti-lag a little?

In the previous link we can read how the M-Sport's tests are scheduled:

Today: Ostberg.
Tomorrow and Thursday: Novikov.
Friday: Ostberg (extra day due to the mechanical problems).
Saturday: Hanninen (it isn't said if he will test on Sunday too).

Then another driver will test the Fiesta.

No its not to help,it depents from how they have design-create their antilag system.Every manufacture uses different way to build pressure.Some systems are more noisy,but that doesnt mean that they are more aggresive.Every system noisy or not, can build tremendous air pressure.Just for example you can have more than 1,5 bar in grN evos(even is uselless so much) even my road evo8 when stationary(stock engine ecu) can build more than 1,5 bar(launch control)
That i saw while watcing videos,is that when Latvala drove the engine sound was louder and different when he was of the throttle.Maybe to his more aggresive antilag?

broken engine(piston or piston ring or head gasket)Oil inside the combustion chamber.Burns inside the cylinder with the air-fuel mixture and create this white-blue smoke.Fire at exhaust tail was due to oils inside the very hot exhaust pipe

Mads also was stuck in the show apparently (from his Istangram account):
Two good days in the new office :) one day of tarmac and one day of snow. Very happy!! It didn't take a lot to get stuck on the snow with slick tires!! Lesson learned :)
