I wouldn't really mind. Even though on tarmac it's mostly Toyota that has punctures in Mexico basically every 2nd WRC car got a puncture, some even multiple ones (Ogier). On quite a few rallies last year the situation was similar.
But Porter mentioned on alllive that they were expensive (400 euro/piece) - that doesn't sound so expensive to me considering how much money teams use on carbon pieces that get ripped off every second stage.
Btw. Sordo said in the media zone that Sunday stages are quite bumpy, specially the first one.

But you're not going to increase the sustainability of these cars or bring more privaters by doubling the tyre budget

Mouse tyre problems:
- very expensive
- more cutting, road degration (expensive for organizers, horrible for privateers, wrc2, juniors etc
- even less level playing field for private teams - no chance to get those tyres
- more punctures for those without mousse
- speed increase, demand for even slower roads

This is what the power stage will look like, as seen on this onboard from 2012. This year's stage starts from 6:33 and extends a bit further than in 2012. On the section from 6:33 to the finish the average speed on Breen's S2000 car is as high as 107 km/h. There's no junctions or other tight corners, no chicanes either, a couple of long straights even. This will be fast.

At least 2 of those punctures where caused by the drivers (Meekes first and Latvala). They admitted themselves.
I think there drivers take more risks (in cuts). I can't see any other explanation when they now used stronger rims and still have the same problem.
Makinen shouldn't ask for "runflat" tyres, he should search the real reason

I think Neuville can win this and hold his position, but Dani will be on attack.
