I wonder why he didn't replace Evans at M-Sport, to be honest.

Mads has access to far more money than Evans.

I was guessing it was Malcom Wilson thing of keeping the drivers he'd bet so much on, like Tanak back in the day, with him, but even Malcom has gone from M-Sport now. I wonder how much of a say he had in the teams' drivers this year.

He hasn't gone anywhere, just focusing on different things in M-Sport than rallying. I bet he still was up there deciding the drivers as much as before.

As for why Elfyn and not Mads, maybe they think Elfyn has been loyal to the team helping Ogier and having years of experience of the team whereas Mads has been elsewhere for the past two years. Both Mads and Elfyn had two podiums last year.
