Jan Magnussen was driving the '00' car at a rally in Denmark the 10th of June 2000. He crashed before the finish. This was exactly one week before he participated in LeMans 24h 2000.

The essential difference between a rally and a race is that a rally pits competitors against a bogey time. Hit the time and you don't get penalised. Take longer and you do. Arrive early and in a modern rally you don't get penalised so one car can cover a stage faster than another and they both get zero penalties. At one time in some rallies you could get penalised for arriving early.Duncan Rollo
