Steven Ross wins Legends race at LPR
Steven Ross (Pro) of Stanfield, NC racing out of the Chris Rogers Motorsports garage sat on the pole with a 18.105 qualifying lap on this 3/8 mile asphalt oval. The race got off to a rocky start with a first lap incident that put 3 drivers on the sideline. However, after the race was restarted it went on for the remaining 29 laps without another yellow flag. Steven led all laps but was pursued by the Johnson brothers, Dace and Cody, who made Steven work for every cirucit. Dace Johnson and Cody Johnson (Semi-pros) finished 2nd and 3rd . The second Pro in the field, Greg Turner, finished 4th and Justin Carrol (Young Lion) of Concord, NC finished 5th. Justin also races out of Chris Rogers Motorsports. We had a field of 15 racers with all divisions represented well. This is a typical size car count for this beautiful track nestled in the VA mountains just outside Coeburn VA. The next Lonesome Pine race is scheduled for June 5th. For additional information contact Thunder Legends at 423-788-3336 or thunderlegends@comcast.net
