    indeed. the shakedown is all on tarmac though (also used as SS9 tomorrow night).

    Not at all! Gives them a look at it, and the public another chance to see them in action right in the middle of the city.

    But that is not the point of the shakedown, it is to allow the crews to get everything fine tuned for the event proper, and that is just not possible going through a parkland stage on tarmac Granted most events are similar and a lot of the roads used aren't completely representative of the actual stages, but at least they are the same surface!

    I think most of us would recognise, due to the comment you have just made, that the shakedown is of very little value in that regard.
    Frankly, if they don't already have all the data they need for these roads there'd be something very wrong.
    Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to a paramedic.

    So, why not take away the shakedown if it's of little value? I understand that the fact that the Wrc is turning more and more into something that is all about pleasning the crowd and media is making some people see red.
